I can respect parents that don't want their little girl wearing only pink or their little boy wearing only blue. A little bit of gender neutrality is a good thing -- not all little girls need to play with dolls, not all little boys need to love dinosaurs, bugs, or trucks.
But I've read about this baby in the link (his/her name is Storm) and the grandparents don't even know if they have a granddaughter or grandson. That is taking the concept of gender-neutrality WAY too far.

nature vs nurture should be discussed theoretically, not benchmarked for goodness sake! hasn't this social (*cough*) experiment been done already in the 1960's or something near then? i wonder if any of those kids ended up ok or just totally screwed.
I see an inherent flaw in the process, in that the parents themselves actually know the sex of the child, this is going to introduce inherent biases, preventing gender neutrality from actually manifesting in the home. But by not exuding any conscious statements there won't be as many pre-conceptions or misconceptions forced upon the young child's mind either.
Another possibility is the parents are keeping it secret because the child is a hermaphrodite and they want to know which parts actually work before deciding which parts to cut out. (This is more likely than you think, because birth certificates are a matter of public record, and if there is no sex on the birth certificate, then there has to be a medical reason.)[Scratch that: Them be Yeah-hoos who didn't even use the hospital]
