Pasco County, Florida -- A man who is paralyzed from the waist down was arrested in Sumter County on multiple warrants -- including attempted murder on two deputies -- after eluding capture twice in one week.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Terry Yates could drive by using a stick or crutch-like object to operate the gas and brake pedals.

On April 3, Yates was spotted by police driving a stolen vehicle. Deputies set up a perimeter in the area of Clay Sink Road and Devils Creek Road and began tracking Yates with a helicopter. Yates was able to escape when the chopper had to refuel.

I guess his paralysis didn't teach him a thing. Some people change their lives when they get seriously hurt. It's kinda like a warning.

I say let'm go. All this dude did was steal a car, and these flat-footed Barney Fifes have wasted more public money on this fruitless pursuit than the original cost of the vehicle.

The guy doesn't even look dangerous. He's having a rough life... just stop it. Let him be.
