It started almost 30 years ago, in 1975, with "Jaws." This movie had me wonder so many times if swimming in the ocean was a good idea after all. Well, here's another story -- except this one is true! A fish that eats testicles has been discovered in a lake in Illinois -- and has already bitten off the testicles of two fishermen!

HUFFINGTONPOST.COM reports:
When biologists say the pacu fish eats nuts, they may be correct in more ways than one. The pacu, a toothy fish that can weigh up to 55 pounds, has been spotted in Lake Lou Yaeger in Illinois, KSDK reports.

    First, if you're swimming or fishing w/o your pants on, something's gonna pay attention, and probably not good attention. If you're gonna be swimming, have some trunks on. If you're fishing far enough off that rolling your pants of doesn't cut it, wear waders.

    beaches make me nervous cause of all the people. but that fish has teeth almost like a person does, thats what makes it more creepy to me

    when i was really little (i mean like 4) i saw Jaws for the first time...i was afraid to even take a bath alone until i was 6. now i realize any shark small enough to fit in my tub wouldn't do a whole lot of damage, but when your 4 its a different world.
    but seriously with all the pollution and crap floating in the ocean, the lakes, the rivers? ill stick to my nice clean pool thanx.

    I so 100% agree with you. Even if I am a female, I don't need to be swimming in the ocean, with things like that swimming around. Thumbs up for the clean pool! (Ocean's dirty anyway. I know there's all sorts of chewed up prey, and fish pee in there... O_O.) Say YaY to the pool!

    I'm more worried about dangerous people stories. THEY scare me more than any fish on earth!!!! But I guess I'll be ok. I dont' have any testicles, so that fish will probably pass me up for better eating!!! Ha Ha!!! But I feel badly for any man who had something like this happen. That's horrible if it's true.

    It makes me uncomfortable not because the fish is dangerous (because it’s not) but because many people with exotic pets are really too stupid to have that kind of responsibility. The person who released this invasive species in a habitat that it obviously doesn't belong in should be fined and prosecuted. He or she should also be barred from owning any further exotic animals.

    Apparently, this fishes diet is primarily vegetation and NUTS! that fall into the streams and the teeth are for chomping & cracking them. I highly suspect tales that fishermen losing their testicles are exaggerations,

    I don't swim in lakes....ever! There are so many little species in there that can only be seen under a microscope, and after you've seen them....you really don't have any desire to swim in a lake ever again!

    I officially have a new most hated fish.
