OWS because they want to Get The Money Out of politics, which is why they continue to gain support. The tparty wants us taxpayers to continue giving to the 1% with subsidies, tax breaks and bail outs. The tparty has their hands deep in our pockets for the 1% and Americans can't afford them.

I would say you hit the nail on the head. I couldn't agree with you more. It is not a party thing it is system thing and as long as the story spinners can keep the right and left divided so strongly, not much is gonna change. Good cop bad cop is not really that complex but these hardliners don't seem to catch on to the game being played on them.

Well, because they aren't paying for their stay (they have hotels and motels in NYC, the Tea Party used them), They aren't paying for the clean-up, so their mess is mostly taxpayer-funded, I pay taxes. Make sense?

And you know that they have their own 1% now, don't you?

Do you think maybe the OWS people pay taxes, too? So are you suggesting that public parks be closed to the public? Does that include you?? Are you suggesting that you are more American than other Americans? You think you are the only person who pays taxes. Even bums pay taxes even if it's just on liquor!! Paying taxes in no way makes you special, it just makes you like every one else. Your taxes haven't been raised any at all, not one tiny bit because of OWS, so they haven't cost you a single thin dime>

If you aren't working, you aren't paying taxes. If someone is feeding you, you aren't earning your keep. If someone gave you your booze, you didn't pay taxes on it.
The OWS protestors are not staying in a public park. It's the private park that the Tea Party had to pay to use.
Are you suggesting that you are better than everyone else, because you think you know everything?
I should have been more clear. Fed income taxes. and if the government gives you the money to buy your smokes. You are not paying taxes on them. You can only pay taxes when you earn the money, even if it's by begging.

And my taxes don't have to be raised for the money to be spent on OWS. It just means that my tax dollars are now not going to someone who really needs it.

How do you feel about the leaders of OWS staying in $700 a night hotels?

How would I know I don't have access to his tax forms do you?? Have you seen Geithner's?? I do know that Paulson and Bush came up with the first TARP plan and after threatening martial law if it wasn't passed...as soon as they got the money he took it upon himself to change the whole plan. I would have a hard time accusing any of them on either side of being over honest about anything.

In 2006, the IRS audited Mr. Geithner's 2003 and 2004 taxes and concluded he owed taxes and interest totaling $17,230, according to documents released by the Senate Finance Committee. The IRS waived the related penalties.

During the vetting of Mr. Geithner late last year, the Obama transition team discovered the nominee had failed to pay the same taxes for 2001 and 2002. "Upon learning of this error on Nov. 21, 2008, Mr. Geithner immediately submitted payment for tax that would have been due in those years, plus interest," a transition aide said. The sum totaled $25,970.

As to why Mr. Geithner didn't pay all his back taxes after the 2006 audit, an Obama aide said the nominee was advised by his accountant he had no further liability. Senate Finance aides said they were concerned either Mr. Geithner or his accountant used the IRS's statute of limitations to avoid further back-tax payments at the time of the audit.

Other tax issues also surfaced during the vetting, including the fact Mr. Geithner used his child's time at overnight camps in 2001, 2004 and 2005 to calculate dependent-care tax deductions. Sleepaway camps don't qualify.

Amended tax returns that Mr. Geithner filed recently include $4,334 in additional taxes, and $1,232 in interes...

MY GUESS IS YOU WOULD NOT HAVE THAT SAME CAVALIER ATTITUDE HAD IT BEEN SOMEBODY IN THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION.

I FIND IT IRONIC THE MAN THAT HEADS THE I R S HAD TAX TROUBLE..... NOW WHAT I DIDN'T TELL YOU IS THAT HE STILL HAS AN OUTSTANDING TAX BILL HOWEVER IT'S PAST THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS. THAT WAS FOR AN ADDITIONAL 40,000. THE ONLY REASON TAX CHEAT GEITNER PAY HIS BILL.... WAS TO ACQUIRE ANOTHER 6 FIGURE SALARY.

NOW MY GUESS IS YOU COMPLAINED ABOUT SARAH PALIN SPENDING MONEY ON BUSINESS ATTIRE FOR HER CAMPAIGN..... MIND YOU IT WAS NOT TAX PAYER MONEY.

Please don't get me wrong here, I am not sticking up for Geithner or Obama and whatever Sarah Palin spent her money on, that's her business. I live in Oregon not Alaska so what ever Mrs, Palin has ever done, it doesn't affect me at all. My point is that nationally the DEMS and GOP are both crooks and liars, who, on the surface oppose each other but in real life are working together, playing a game much like good cop-bad cop and are succeeding in fooling enough people that they actually whole heartedly support their own demise. It is a very crooked system and yes the major players, on both sides are very crooked also.

I'd rate Obama and Bush neck and neck. It doesn't matter which party they belong to they are still going to do the same thing, no matter what they say and you are correct it's getting worse but I disagree. I believe the whole system is broken and if it weren't we'd have had better canidates in the first place!! Obama would be a city attorney in bum f ck egypt somewhere.
