Question US

Osama Bin Laden condemns EU over Muhammad cartoons. Should this threat be taken seriously?

Grace W. Bush March 20, 2008 17:15:14

Great! Just what we needed. A new statement attributed to al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden condemns European countries for siding with the United States in Afghanistan and for allowing the publication of cartoons considered insulting to Islam's prophet, Muhammad.

The biggest military blunder of the century was Bush ordering our troops off the Tora Bora Mountains where they had Osama and all his top leaders surrounded. By sending our troops to invade Iraq and topple Sadham who had nothing to do with Alquida allowed Osama and company to spread out all over the world never to be in the same place at the same time again. Americans need to wonder and question why Osama was allowed to escape and has not been caught or killed yet. I have read reports that Osama has been hopsitalized since 9/11 in a hospital in Dubai and the CIA knew about it which leads me to question if Bush really wants him brought to justice under his watch. After all it cannot be ignored that the close ties between the Bush family and the BinLadin family has made the Bush's billions. This explains why all of Osama's relatives were alowed to fly out of the US after the attack on 9/11 when all planes were grounded. It may also expalin why it is not in the Bush family's best interests to capture or kill Osama. Osama is on a dialysis machine and must need supplies. With our intelligence network don't you think we could find pin point where certain medical supplies are going in that remote region of the world. There are not many Pakistani's or Ahgafistani's who could afford the medication or equipment he needs to survive. Most of these people in the tribal areas are poor and would just die if that had a chronic disease. Plus there would be the need for hospitalization at times so those reports make sense but why we would not kidnap him and bring him to justice does not.

All threats of terrorism should be taken serious no matter who makes the threat..After 911 the Bush Administration decided to go after Osama Bin Laden, but for some unknown reason, they did a complete about face and decided to go after Sadam Hussin who they claimed had weapons of mass destruction and was part of the terrorist regime..If the Bush Administration had stayed on Bin Laden, they probaby would have captured him by now...Where ever Bin Laden is, he is plotting another big attack against this country and on any US soil...The mistake was made to not keep looking for him.

We should take all threats serious no matter who it comes from. When we do not take these idiots serious, such as the Clintons and the rest of the Democrat's, we end up with a 9-11 and follow-up with a war. ACEDMagazine hit the nail on the head. Take the treat serious and let our Spec Op Teams take care of the treat with very extreme warfare techniques. The type that makes them wonder if they are dealing with someone crazier than them.

Get this straight, there is real, deep seated, anti-Arab racism in Europe. These cartoons were bait for terrorists. I do believe our invasion of Iraq is making the Arab world war-weary, so they may not take the bait.

Afganistan is another matter. Our lack of investment and clumsy use of force is not making friends. This is the region where Osama and his buddies live. Time will tell.

He's just saber rattling, but most folks with any balls would know he's just crying "Wolf". If the AQ attacks some other country like it did the US, it's more likely to get Europe in an uproar against AQ than bending over to pray and live by the rules of Osama.

Fine print, the resolution of this will only come about when moderate Muslim leaders come out promoting tolerance of cartoons, satire and peaceful coexistence with other religions.

there is some question as to whether he is dead at the moment. there is still an al qaeda threat out there, and so it needs to be taken seriously. i'm sure there are countries he hasn't threatened yet, just because there are many countries. however, if this is bin laden, then the guy's a hypocrit. his methods are known to be immoral by any standard and he's condemning others for their immorality? the guy's a dangerous wack-job. if he's still alive, then he should be killed - by any means available. he is a danger to everyone. that would not solve the terrorist problem, unfortunately. it would help though.

He is still a threat, don't get me wrong but all of his threats since 9/11 have been hollow. Lets hope none have a heart beat.

It has to be taken seriously because they're nuts. It shouldn't be taken seriously because they/he should have no say in how other countries behave.
