I don't know, but I heard of a odd story where sea gulls got frightened by fireworks and wildly attacked the pyros handling making the fireworks. The pyros were sent to the hospital...

Fireworks have been fired for thousands of years. And that is the first I heard of any deranged birds.

I can see that. That's a lot of crap not to have to clean up. I personally think it detracts from the event. Somehow, the cynic in me doesn't doesn't belive this was really about sea gulls.

Since I live in Oregon I can attest to the fact that most of the state has a mental disorder. Let's see we are supposed to be kind to the banana slug, a slimey 4 inch long snail without a shell that can devour your garden in a week.; shut down the lumbering industry to save the spotted owl which is now being killed off by a larger barred owl. They are now hunting and killing the barred owl! We are totally inundated with Canadian Geese which mess up the soccer fields and golf courses not to mention the total destruction of wheat fields, etc. Why can't we hunt them? Why there is a small billed goose that cohabitates with them. Wouldn't common sense tell the enviromentalist that the small billed goose will be bred out of existence by the Canadian Goose? Well, apparently not. Their mental capacity has not attained that level of reasoning. Now we are scaring the sea gulls if we shoot off fireworks in a small sea side town. Have you ever tried to scare a sea gull away?? They fly off and then come right back where they were before!
