The early morning news carried word that police in Charlotte have already had at least one brush with protesters in the Queen City as some tried blocking streets ahead of tonights opening of the DNC. They were herded back into Marshall Park where a number of protestors are camped. An unreported number were detained for a time.
The bluest of NC citys is said to be prepared, though many law enforcement officers are on loan from around the country. This weekend many attendes were misdirected to their destinations by officers unfamiliar with the uptown area. Though not a huge city Charlotte has a number of oneway streets, many of which form the uptown of Charlotte.
A good number of the current protesters are thought to be returned from last falls protest, Occupy Charlotte.

News this pm, a bunch of protestors caused another street near Marshall Park to be closed when police wouldn't let them advance to the Arena. Several arrested.
