I am very happy for those who did not have medical coverage, and for those with pre-existing illnesses who will now be covered.

Taxes are the lowest they've been in 50 years, but we're still spending like we did 50 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I want medicare medicaid, social security, and the Affordable Care Act, but they don't pay for themselves.

Also, the tax you're referring to only hits people who don't have insurance and who can't pay their bills after they've received treatment at the ER.

    Lets think about it . . .

If I am walking down the street and see a poor woman with three or four children begging for money for food, clothing and housing; I have nothing to give her, but see a wealthy man down the street. I go to the wealthy man and demand he give me money to help the poor. He refuses so I present a firearm and repeat my demand. I take the cash from his wallet and give it to the poor woman, who is then able to feed, clothe, and house herself and the children for a month.

Am I a robber and thief or a great progressive humanitarian?

I think most would agree I am a thief.

Now let us suppose rather than go alone to rob one man to help one person, I get together with a dozen friends and we rob hundreds to feed hundreds, a regular Robin Hood and his merry men.

Are we robbers and thieves, a gang of thugs, or a great progressive humanitarian movement?

I think most would agree we are gangsters and should be stopped.

Now let us suppose rather than go alone to rob one man to help one person or in a gang to help hundreds, I get together with a million like minded humanitarians and we select representatives from among ourselves call it a “congress.” The congress then hires hundreds to use whatever force is needed to take money from the “rich” to feed, clothe a...

Is this where I stop being a thief and become a great progressive humanitarian?

It is frightening how many will now say that I am a great progressive humanitarian.

We need to do something now. I pay Payroll Tax; and it's still TAX!! .. . . We have Government Programs and Agencies that run useless government programs, that are just "in business" so to speak, in order to GIVE MONEY AWAY!! . . . No one has ever given me anything; and if they did, I would NOT accept it, anyway. We really do need to wise-up and stop allowing our government to just keep taking money from us and wasting it ALL FOR POLITICAL REASONS and Stupid Promises made for political reasons!!

As long as you don't have insurance you can pay the fine which will be cheaper and then get insurance when you need it. Yep, and whatever you do, don't get old. You are likely to be refused diagnostics and care if you aren't considered viable anymore. Nope not bad, uh huh.

You haven't read any of the plan and don't have a real clue about any of it do you? You are just buying in to the Repub hype like so many of the other sheeple. I am not a Dem fan either, but at least I know how to sort the BS between the two parties. As far as getting old? Well, am there and you know what? I planned for it so I wouldn't have to follow the Repub health care plan, "Don't get sick unless you are a senator or congressman!"

I am still laughing at the registered nurse and health care administrator who told me she couldn't read the simplified version I linked her to because it was difficult. How the hell does she read and administer prescriptions perform her duties without good reading and comprehension skills. Oh, she must be from the dummied down nursing schools that don't require a full four year, intensive degree.

Making judgments and assumptions hmnnn, but you are wrong. I have read much of it, not all 2000 plus pages, but enough to know we are screwed. You are right about them taking care of themselves and I think there should be a movement to get them on the same plan we all have, but have you not heard that what you saved is under consideration to be taken from you and placed in social security to shore it up? The idea first came via Bill Clinton and Obama has brought it to the surface again. So, don't think they won't get that and give you a "settlement." After all, Obama has proven he can lie to Americans and cheat them out of their constitutional rights.

Did you have to give me a scare today? Dealing with Obamatax, et al, is enough for one day. LOLOL

I make no assumptions. It's the Mitt Romney plan... Déjà vu all over again. You read and researched what you wanted to, not facts. Try some unbiased research.

This ranks right up there with believing Romney can create jobs. Neither He nor Obama can do that. Only demand from the sheeple can do that!

No, I was talking about your assumption about me. You mean the Obamatax that I waded through did not contain facts? I guess that was very Obama biased, I better find some Republican material on the matter then.

And encouragement to small businesses. No one will hire in light of such uncertainty and a president who loves restrictions, more taxes, and health care from employers.

You are stuck in never never political land. Bad place to be for America. As far as a business environment, I make my living with the stock market and this is a wonderful environment. Up and down. What could be better. But Obama and Romney can't do anything to fix a 10 or more year old problem in the making and no one is addressing the core issues, that is strick bank governance!. It's not America, It's congress and the 525 people we have elected who don't want to do the things that need to be done and that is stabilize the economy with a clear policy. The President can't do that no matter who it is. And you won't like this but as an investor, the Fed needs to start raising the interest rate to make people and companies start spending before they lose the financial benefit of rock bottom borrowing rates. I just paid cash for a house. Why? Good investement at rock bottom prices but they are moving up.

I wouldn't even think about putting money in the stock market. I am way too cautious. When I first started working I got into an annuity and they asked what kind of an account I wanted. I wanted a guarantee, forget playing the market. What I have now is drawing 4.5% and when friends went with the stock market some lost everything. I may not have millions, but I didn't lose anything. They might have had triple what I have now, but they don't have anything now. I'll take my account balance, thank you.

I will agree about our politicians. They get elected with some ideals and it takes very little time to change those ideals into self-interest. If they were giving Americans a fair deal, they would have the same health care and benefits, but they gave themselves much better everything.

The president in this case is out of his depth. His politics don't match mine and I consider him a front man for anti-American money-men. George Soros makes me totally sick, but he and Valerie Jarrett speak daily.

I just tore the old homestead down and getting ready to build a nice house. It's a great spot, but I am not going through a regular bank. I am going to use my shares in the credit union.

There have been bigger tax increases in the past, on working Americans, and we survived just fine. THe taxes for Obamacare will mostly be paid by insurance companies, not us. And we will get rebates from them if they do not spend at least 85% of their revenue on treatment. We will be fine

I think you better check your information. This is the one single largest tax levied in American history. There are 21 taxes levied, 7 of which will strongly affect the middle class. Keep telling yourself we'll be fine as it takes a year to get a doctor's appointment and you aren't allowed diagnostics or care because you're too old and not viable. Yeah, uh huh.
  • Roger47 Politic... 2012/07/06 20:37:59

My information is correct. And the Obamacare taxes will mostly come from insurance companies and a tax on ultra high priced insurance policies. The middle class won't be hit.

You're right on that count. I would have NEVER believed that America would go in the direction it has taken. The Liberal Porgressive movement with the guidance of Obama, George Soros, Bill Ayres, Axlerod, Pelosi, Reid, and others are bent on destroying America. Nikita was telling the truth. He said he would bury us and defeat us without firing a shot. Getting rid of Obama in November may be our only hope.
