The mandate tax penalty is only a tax in the bill there are a hole host of taxes built into to it as well as all kinds of agencies and department expansions, the IRS is having the largest expansion ever to manage it.
Why should those who refuse to get healthcare "insurance" be penalized to cover those who don't take care of or responsible for their own health?
So, you are telling me that a person who needs surgery right now with no insurance just happens to have $20-50,000 tucked away someplace for that surgery? Get real. Everyone needs insurance to cover the costs and as it stands right now, those of us who have insurance are paying higher premium costs because others who dont, go the the ER and never pay their bills. You cant be that naive.
that is not so, and catastrophe insurance would be all that is needed that is a minimal cost. many people like myself don't fully subscribe to western medicine and don't need to be forced to buy insurance for something we don't use. Its amazing how people can dig up $20,000 to $50,000 for a car they can not afford but cant scratch that up for a life saving surgery? What have I been paying Medicare for most of my working life hmm thought that was insurance will they still take medicaid and medicare out of my paycheck now that Obamcare is in force. ObamaSare has nothing to do with wellness and just a fascist expansion instrument. If health and wellness was a concern the first thing they would have done was dismantle FDA once of the biggest contributors to disease in this country and is fascist monopoly protecting and free speech stifling organization. Exactly right. People dont have a problem making payments on cars and houses, but refuse to make payments toward a life saving surgery or even preventive care. I have medicare and another insurance, and nothing is going to change for me, except maybe I will get my prescriptions cheaper once everyone is on the system. You dont necessarily need a car or to buy a house, but you will get sick at some time in your life, and that is a guaranteed fact. I am so happy they found the hc bill consititutional and once it is fully implemented, people will be happy with it.
so if you get sick you pay for the care its still much cheaper then what you will pay for insurance which is nothing more then a lottery. Most of the common diseases of today are preventable with out health insurance.

It isnt cheaper to pay as you go. If you have any kind of tests, it could cost $2500 and up, and then prescription meds are another expensive item. You never know what could happen to you. A lady went to the doctor because she thought she had chicken pox and found out she had colon cancer. She was trying to wait until her insurance kicked in on a new job. She waited too long and died. You just never know what can happen.
She wasnt on meds. She didnt have insurance and didnt get preventive care. She could have been saved. If your family has certain medical problems, the best thing you can do is get checked right away, but if you dont have insurance, your tendency is to wait and hope the symptoms go away. We have marfans in our family, and if my doctor wouldnt have checked me and sent me to a cardiologist, I might not be here because I had an aneurysm. Now I get checked every couple years. I just wish people would stop fighting the inevitable and get on the band wagon. I want people like you to live to fight another day.
Anyone who read Obama's books knows his biggest single goal in life is to redistribute wealth. How best to do this? Simple - create the largest tax scheme, sell it as "fairness", and promote "cap-n-trade", and ... yes, sell THAT also as "fairness", while increasing costs to the middle class of America by leaps and bounds.
