Question US

Obama's VP, Write-in vote: Express your opinion on who would make the best(y) or worst(n) vice-president.

TechnoZeus May 11, 2008 03:05:20

Please start your comment with the write-in name for a positive (yes) vote, or with the word "NOT" followed by the write-in name for a negative (No) vote.

An "Undecided" vote can be used to leave a comment but will not be counted for or against any potential vice-president.

You may choose who would you like most to see as the Vice President if and when Barack Obama becomes the President of the United States of America, by voting "Yes" and writing in that person's name as the first line of your comment.
---
For examples, if you answered no, you might write in something like...

Albert Gore (Albert Arnold Gore, Jr.; aka Al Gore; former Vice President)
...Because he was a popular choice world-wide when he ran for president.
---

Alternatively you may choose to indicate who you would be most opposed to seeing as Vice President if and when Barack Obama becomes the President of the United States of America, by voting "No" and writing in "NOT" followed by that person's name on the first line of your comment.

---
For examples, if you answered no, you might write in something like...

NOT Jesse Jackson (the Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson, Sr.; former presidential candidate)
...Because I don't share his views on [_insert_objections_here_].
---

IMPORTANT: If you vote "No" and fail to put the word NOT or AGAINST in front of the write-in name, I will count it as an error.
Likewise, if you vote "YES" and write NOT or AGAINST in front of the name, I will count that as an error also.

If the write-in name is not on the first line, it may quite possibly not get correctly counted.

Approval will be rated by subtracting the votes AGAINST a potential Vice President from the votes FOR the same individual, so cast a positive vote if you have one and keep in mind that a negative write-in for an extremely unlikely possibility will probably be a somewhat wasted vote.

Please use full first and last name (correctly spelled if possible) for easy sorting, followed optionally by any title or other identifying information in parentheses.

If you would like some ideas of who to write in, look at other people's answers first and see if there's one you like or particularly dislike.

Here are some suggestions for consideration, included here to help keep spelling consistent for easier sorting and counting...

NOT Hillary Clinton (despite starting out looking good, her unwillingness to accept inevitable defeat and move on for the good of the party, and her rash statements about being shot at when she wasn't, about obliterating Iran, about it being a good idea to cut gas tax, etc., clearly show she can't be trusted as a leader. It is a shame - this would have been the 'dream ticket', if she hadn't gone off the rails so much)

Hillary Clinton (Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton; Junior U.S. Senator and Former First Lady) -- With Hillary on the ticket I will support him in telephone work, donations, and my vote (along with two others in my home I think I can influence. Without her I will be torn between two poor choices, Mc Cain and Nadar, but if Obama displays the poor judgement of failing to heal the rift; his judgement is not of presidential quality.

So basically you are saying that you would rather use your single vote as leverage to force the American people to do things your way than to vote for the best choice. You know, with the work Hillary has been doing for the campaign, I have forgiven her for the damage that she did to her own political party... even though it is much more extensive than the repairs she will likely be able to do... but you just reminded my how extensive the damage is and how badly she lied to her own supporters... which is not exactly making me feel any better about her. I will support Barack Obama regardless of who he picks to be his Vice President, but I do know that if he picks her he will lose many more votes than he will gain, becuase many people who trust him because he has earned their trust would feel like he had mislead them by saying that he wanted to break away from Politics as Usual, and Hillary Clinton has not shown that she is capable of doing that.

Still... vote acknowledged, and you are welcome to vote in my newer VP poll also.

I do appreciate you expressing your opinion... but I feel very sorry for you than she twisted your thought process so badly that you have not yet recovered. I hope some how she will make it up to you some day.

Al Gore is not even a possibility, he did it 8 years I seriously doubt he is willing to be #2 again. Obama needs Evan Bayh, Kathleen Sebelius, or even John Kerry. Although Clinton would be the best choice, she doesn't need to degrade herself by being on his ticket.
