Obama’s slip is showing again?
In his “game-changing” speech last Thursday, the president did it again. He lectured his listeners in typically grandiloquent fashion on the vitality of a big-government approach to governance by observing:
Together, we touched the surface of the moon, unlocked the mystery of the atom, connected the world through our own science and imagination. We haven’t done these things as Democrats or Republicans. We’ve done them as Americans. [Emphasis added]
Only it wasn’t Americans who “unlocked the mystery of the atom.” There were multiple scientists from several cultures involved in identifying the particles that make up the atom, but none of them were American.
