Obama’s Fellow Columbia Graduate: Secret “Threatens To Bring Down His Presidency”
Wayne Allyn Root, a former libertarian VP candidate, has an article featured on The Blaze in which he seriously questions Obama’s record at Columbia University.
Root, like Barry Soetoro/Barack Obama, was part of the graduating class at Columbia in 1983. He is “one of the most accurate Las Vegas oddsmakers and prognosticators.” He claims that a gut-instinct tells him “Obama has a secret hidden at Columbia – and it’s a bad one that threatens to bring down his presidency.”
If anyone should have questions about Obama’s record at Columbia University, it’s me. We both graduated (according to Obama) Columbia University, Class of ’83. We were both (according to Obama) Pre-Law and Political Science majors. And I thought I knew most everyone at Columbia. I certainly thought I’d heard of all of my fellow Political Science majors. But not Obama (or as he was known then- Barry Soetoro). I never met him. Never saw him. Never even heard of him. And none of the classmates that I knew at Columbia have ever met him, saw him, or heard of him.
But don’t take my word for it. The Wall Street Journal reported in 2008 that Fox News randomly called 400 of our Columbia classmates and never found one who had ever met Obama.
Now all of this mystery could be easily and instantly dismissed if Obama released his Columbia transcripts to the media. But even after serving as President for 3 1/2 years he refuses to unseal his college records. Shouldn’t the media be as relentless in pursuit of Obama’s records as Romney’s? Shouldn’t they be digging into Obama’s past–beyond what he has written about himself–with the same boundless enthusiasm as Mitt’s?”
Breitbart did point out on May 18 that they had attained a “never-before-seen document” that proved Obama graduated from Columbia in 1983, but they still had no record of his transcripts, and noted that “Whether Obama’s college transcripts, or the documents in the Fast and Furious scandal, the time for excuses and evasions is over.”
So, part of Root’s argument is a little off, at least as far as speculating as to whether Obama/Soetoro actually attended Columbia, but his message continues.
The first question I’d ask is, if you had great grades, why would you seal your records? So let’s assume Obama got poor grades. Why not release the records? He’s president of the free world, for gosh sakes. He’s commander-in-chief of the U.S. military. Who’d care about some poor grades from three decades ago, right? So then what’s the problem? Doesn’t that make the media suspicious? Something doesn’t add up.
Secondly, if he had poor grades at Occidental, how did he get admitted to an Ivy League university in the first place? And if his grades at Columbia were awful, how’d he ever get into Harvard Law School? So again those grades must have been great, right? So why spend millions to keep them sealed?
Third, how did Obama pay for all these fancy schools without coming from a wealthy background? If he had student loans or scholarships, would he not have to maintain good grades?”
Root is “betting” that Obama was admitted to Occidental and then Columbia as a foreign exchange student that never changed his citizenship back to become a U.S. citizen after living in Indonesia as a young boy. He also believes it is likely that Obama/Soetoro rarely went to class, his grades were not up to Harvard Law standards, he was a foreign exchange student at Columbia, and he received foreign student aid and scholarships at both Harvard Law and Columbia.
If you are reading this article and you think this is blasphemous, keep in mind this is purely speculative. Root’s questioning feeds into the more radical views of the president, but we have at least seen some form of college transcript of papers from Al Gore, John Kerry, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, so why do we have nothing from Barack Barry Soetoro Obama? Breitbart pointed out that the media leaked George W. Bush’s transcripts, and wonders “why the media has not shown the same interest in Obama’s records.”
The most logical reasoning, as Root suggests, is that Obama applied for and received foreign student aid. This in no way means that Obama was not born in America, but if it came out that Obama misled college institutions into handing out foreign student aid, the “birthers” would damn-near have a collective heart attack/aneurysm, and that would be some of the worst PR in the history of the world.
The Obama campaign has nothing to win by releasing the records, or so it seems, so why would they?
To me, these issues only raise questions about the leadership qualities of our president. But if you’re sitting around waiting for more birth certificates and college records to be released, your best bet is still to do everything you can to vote Obama out of office so that this is a non-issue.
The reason I don’t like the the “birther” and college transcript arguments is for two reasons: 1) We aren’t going to see anything come out, especially before the election, and 2) you’re preaching to the choir. The other side that completely disagrees with these arguments will not be affected by this, and the people in the middle and other Independents won’t care about anything until a concrete piece of evidence is shown. The liberal media won’t go digging into records to out their beloved president, so no amount of crying and screaming will do anything.
The most important and most efficient way of getting Obama-Soetoro out of the White House is to let everyone you know about how horrible he is at managing the economy; it’s almost impossible for anyone to argue that his policies “have worked” so why not spread this word more as opposed to speculation half the country vehemently rejects?
