Homeland Security Tip: Fend Off Shooter With Scissors

America: We've come a long way from the 2nd Amendment which states:
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of a free people to keep and bear arms, shall NOT be infringed!
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of a free people to keep and bear arms, shall NOT be infringed!
(NEWSER) – The Department of Homeland Security has released a video
advising Americans on how to deal with a mass shooting—and some of its
tips have the New York Post scratching its head. For instance, the video
suggests that "if you are caught out in the open and cannot conceal
yourself or take cover, you might consider trying to overpower the
shooter with whatever means are available" ... and then shows a man
arming himself with scissors.

One: Call 911.
This is (generally) a good idea. However, bear in mind the average number of people killed by a mass murderer by the time the law has finally arrived is about fourteen. The average number of people killed when an armed civilian is there is 2.5. Thanks, Obie and Jan, for looking out for us. Remember, folks: When seconds count, the police are minutes away - old saying, but its true. Since the average response time for police to get to your situation is around five minutes … and the average response time of a .357 magnum shooting 125gr. FXT Critical Defense rounds out a S&W; Airlite is 1,200 feet per second.
Two:
Hide under the desk. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that the Virginia Tech tool who killed many co-eds shot them while they cowered under their desks. Cowering under a desk, playing possum, is not the way this cowboy wants to be remembered. I think this is what is called the “Pussification” of America.
Three:
Scissors. What floors me in the video is the DHS advising those who are forced to field such circumstance is to pick up scissors and confront the culprit. Scissors? Really? What kind of scissors, Barry and Janet? Pinking shears or Floyd The Barber’s clippers?
Don't get me wrong folks, I’m not (beyond)...

Don't get me wrong folks, I’m not (beyond) sticking a pair of scissors into a murderer’s skull if that’s my only recourse, but I still think a gun would be a better weapon —just like our POTUS once said while campaigning: “Never bring a knife to a gun fight.” If the DHS wants to play “Glock, Paper, Scissors”, I’m going for Glock every time.

To try and Overpower an Armed Person, if Out in Open..???
I would Shoot the Moron..
The Only way to Overpower an armed person, is IF they are within Arms Reach...DUH....
Stupidist advice ever, but then again what do you expect from the Government!
single-blade, serated, single action assault knife....w/scope!
.....unless they have a 'cosmetic' (grip) attached....THAT's when they become 'assault'.
