ObamaCare or the ObamaUncaringTax is going to both increase the cost of medical care and lower its quality.

actually no it won't because the cost of insurance will increase a bit but not signifiantly because of obamacare. the cost of healthcare is in fact ncreasing at an uncontrolled rate. With or without obamacare that still would be happening. It has to be remembered that their is a big diffence between heelthcare and healthcare organization maintenance. One seeks to heal and one seeks the best cost effective path to that healing. People often confused the two.

Sorry, I'm just opposed to socialized medicine period. "One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It's very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. . . . Now, the American people, if you put it to them about socialized medicine and gave them a chance to choose, would unhesitatingly vote against it." - Ronald Reagan

In 2800 pages of ObamaCare, Obama administration buried a provision, where one can be completely exempt from paying even a cent in Health Care penalty/tax, if buying insurance is against his religious believes. Such aversion to insurance can be found in Muslim religion, where insurance is considered a form of gambling. That means that individuals, who are Christians and Jews would have to carry on their backs the burden of ObamaTax, while Muslims will be exempt.
    sounds unconstitutional to me.

Neither would I ... but we can change a few things within our own religions. It's only gambling when you pass money. What else is gambling to these people ? BTW, who pays when these Muslim folks visit the ER ???? ....... Thought so :)

And then Christianity & so on should be exempt too, right? But I heard that they won't be. So why not? Why would Muslims be exempt, & not Christians? Probably because Obama is Muslim.

The 2800 pgs include the muslim word "dhimmitude", which refers to the taxation of a conquered country by Islam.

Now, why would that word be in there? And "taxation" in the original document? Obviously Obama WAS planning on taxing us, yet LIED again-telling us it wouldn't be a tax! Lies Lies Lies!

Healthcare, medicare and insurance are related but different animals. Healthcare is what just about 100% of all humans need. Medicare is a social management method that delivers that need - especially to the most vulnerable DESERVING, children and seniors.

Insurance is how the need gets paid for. Obamacare is 2, 000 pages of describing the nuts and bolts of that process to an expanded audience. Nothing more. In exchange, the insurance companies have agreed to have their industry managed to make it more affordble but profitable for business they would not have had otherwise. It's one thing to stop bleeding and another to provide the bandage. So those who claim it's a free ride for illegals to just get premium healthcare at the emergency room free of charge, don't know how the system works.

I specialize in medicare and service 50-100 people a day in the US where 65K pepole per day become eligible for medicare everyday. I don't tell health professionals how to do their job. My job is licensed and certified as well and I seriously doubt they know how to do mine.

Obamacare is a travesty of justice and has little to do with healthcare. I personally think the insurance industry is a large part of the problem.

what is unjust about taking care of your fellow man? Obamacare has EVERTHING to do with healthcare. The insurance companies are part of the free market and deserve to operate in a way that allows for profit within that market. Now as an employee of a large company, I would say that it was ludicrous to expect the single largest social change to the health system was going to be made with billionaires with their corporations sitting on the sidelines and not rip off a piece for themselves. Healthcare is a large tgt because it's as obvious as the need to breath. What do perceive as a 'problem' ? One problem I identify daily is how people who think their lives are so together, refuse to realize their not.

Taking the politics out of it... Insurance is just transfer of risk. Removing risk from your life and having someone else pick it up for you. People have more to do with the cost of healthcare than they think because they don't deal with mortality everyday like I do...They eat crap, drink crap and then do crap to their bodies and then wonder why healthcare is not all that it could be. Everybody - regardless of age, thinks the issues don't pertain to them, when in fact, it's all about them
  • Kat taitaFa... 2012/09/05 15:44:37

Perhaps you should read all the garbage in the bill before claiming it's healthcare. This will not cover all, it will not function as they claim and it will cost substantially more than they allowed for.
  • taitaFa... Kat 2012/09/05 15:56:08 (edited)
    taitaFalcon23
It is healthcare - it may not be perfect in all cases in all times but it IS a method of delivering healthcare and the cost is controlled at better rates than had nothing been done at all. Why, because the 'risk' has been desocialized and moved more to a privatized scenario where the insurance companies increase their revenue generation and decrease their overhead. That was all part of negotiations to get the law even be voted on.

Emergency rooms are required to take in all patients, insured or uninsured, under a federal law signed by President Ronald Reagan. The government used a pot of about $20 billion to reimburse hospitals each year for this care. But that pot is going to be cut in half by 2019, under the reasoning that the health care law will dramatically cut the number of people who don't have insurance, thus saving hospitals money. The calculation leaves out one key group of uninsured people: illegal immigrants, who will not be required to buy health insurance or be eligible for Medicaid, or be allowed to purchase insurance on state-run exchanges under the law.

Earlier proposals that addressed illegal immigrants were scrapped during the health care debate after they drew controversy.

In New York City public hospitals, an estimated 40 percent of all uninsured patients treated are undocumented, and other hospital systems have an even larger share. Experts estimate that about 6 million of the nation's uninsured are illegal immigrants.

Someone other than the illegals will pay, as they do now. Besides illegals are being processed for amnesty as we speak.

Nobody - Dem or GOP wants to touch this issue with a 10 foot pole, but having nothing in place in a situation of many moving parts is just whistling in the dark. Someday when the partisan party views mature, healthcare can be perfected and sensible compromises be worked out but that has nothing to do with Obamacare - it has everything to do with a previous law that burdens the system.
  • Chris Dogzebra 2012/11/12 17:36:31

In a civilized society it's only right to take care of people in an emergency but we still need to address the underlying issue of why those people don't have coverage. What Reagan did was a good thing but it's just a bandaid for the issue. Obama care attempts to address the issue but by leaving the Republican party out of the decision making process they effectively cut out half of the population from that choice. This is such a multi-faceted issue, with illegals being one issue. How fair is it that for my 20 minute visit to the ER I pay $3,500 out of pocket and people with no insurance pay nothing. Obama care is flawed and unconstitutional but he's our president and it's law now. I guess we have to see how it plays out but it's costing people a lot money hidden in things like the tax on the sale of your home.

Obiecare was a ploy to suck us deep into Socialism, with restrictive controls and a means to destroy the economy. Any fool that has ever had to balance a check book would've seen where this would lead us.
