Today the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act as Consitutional. The individual mandate is Constitutional under the tax clause, but not under the commerce clause. The Affordable Care Act will go ahead as planned by the Obama administration.

I'm not paying for it. Obama can shove it up his ass. I refuse to pay for the 400lb slob on welfare sitting at home watching TV and despite what you heard you too don't have to pay for it either. http://renunciationguide.com/...

Welfare is paid for with TAX dollars.

It is good for America. Insured people are healthy people. Costs of care will go down when small problems are taken care of before they become large problems.

I think it is funny just watching Republicons as their faces turn red with anger. Bush may have stacked the court with right wing nuts but it was one of the "rightiest" right wing nuts that swung the vote. Sure... it would have been OK if they had found it unconstitutional but they are terrible since they found it constitutional. I have a feeling that the Republicons are going to pick up all their marbles and go home. Goodbye, you big babies.

And Mitch McConnel has stated they are going to repeal it. He is going to waste more time with that?... If he could get it to pass in the House it won't pass the Senate and even if it did, do you really think that Obama wouldn't veto it?

Sorry you see it that way. I couldn't give 2 rips about what political party "won" or "lost" when it comes to ANY piece of Legislation. I care about America, not stupid ego wars between Millionaire Reps and Senators from across the land. Peace.

Really, that's how you want to frame your discussion? "If you care about America...?" Well, try this one on for size.

If you care about America, then you should be mortified. This Law dictates Commerce. It now is constitutional for Congress to tell us how to spend our money. You may like this particular piece of Legislation and believe that it's OK because it has lofty goals. That's cool. But what if, with a different Congress & SCOTUS, we were all charged with arming ourselves? If you don't own a gun you will be "taxed" and then have Federal IRS agents check in on you to ensure you are in fact armed.

Since modern thought is that white meat is better for our bodies than red meat, Congress could now dictate a tax for not purchasing Chicken McNuggets when ordering a Big Mac. Think that is outrageous? As part of this landmark legislation, we now have our first overtly racist piece of Legislation in several decades and nobody is saying a word. To help pay for this Law, there is a new tax on tanning booths. Really, tanning booths? How many Blacks, Latinos, Pacific Islanders and Middle Easterners use tanning facilities? Not as many as Caucasians! But it now the Law of our land.

You think you don't need insurance? What happens if you need a 120,000 quadrupal bipass. You have 120,000 dollars to pay for it? Good for you. There are a lot of people who don't who need insurance. If they had had insurance in the first place, they might have gone to the doctor and been diagnosed with high blood preasure and high colesterol and been given a 10 dollar perscription, saving everyone time and money. That is one way Obama Care is going lower medical costs.

HAHAH!. I am a father of three, and yes my daughter was born with kidney reflux, so yes I know all too well about sick kids. I put it in quotes becaue a lot of Libs are going to use those kids to push this pitiful bill. AND, yes it is a tax, plain and simple. And by the way, those same doctors, nurses, and hospitals would have already treated those childre. Arguing with libs about this healthcare bill is asinine. We will see come november. have a wonderful day. Also, if you notice, I have not once used name calling in my argument, yet you had no problem with it. learn how to debate without making yourself look like a child!

You will not pay any of that "tax". The tax is a penalty that will only be levied against people who can afford to buy insurance but refuse to.

Are you one of these people? Are you a father of three who has a child with a pre-existing condition and your family is uninsured?

Calm down conservatives, losing always have you acting like a bunch of school yard bullies who just met their match. In less than 10 years time you'll be trying to take credit for the Affordable Care Act. You've always been on the wrong side of history from civil rights to social security. You should be used to it by now.

It is what it is. I will continue to argue against this much government control.

And you know what? I think as time goes on that argument will be more persuasive as the pain of this law begins to effect everyone.

I wonder how many more government employee benefits this will cost us? This kind of program requires an unprecedented hiring binge for the government.
