Obamacare Saves Seniors $3.7 Billion So Republicans Want To Take It Away

Samantha 2012/06/26 23:39:02
Among the many (MANY) benefits of the Affordable Care Act (aka “Obamacare” aka “The End Of America” aka “Romneycare” aka “The Socialist Take Over” aka “Republicans Are Lying Weasels”) is the closing of the so-called “donut hole” in which seniors are left holding the bag for the cost of their medicine.

The donut hole was the brilliant invention of the GOP when they passed Medicare part D. What happens is that when the cost of a senior citizens’ prescriptions pass a set amount ($2,700 in 2009 but the dollar amount fluctuates yearly) they are forced to pay anything over that amount in full with no help from Medicare. Once the costs exceed a second set amount ($6,154 in 2009 and it also fluctuates), that person is considered to be in the catastrophic coverage range and Medicare covers 95% of any further medicine. The space between is the “donut hole” and it’s been costing senior citizens billions of dollars a year.

Obamacare partially closes the hole by mandating that senior citizens that reach the limit are able to get name brand prescription drugs for 50% off and generic drugs for 7% less. The donut will be phased out completely, by law, by 2020. The average savings have been about $651 just in the first 5 months of 2012 alone.

Why are conservatives so inclined to lie about Obama so frequently? Your post smacks of the same old conservative lies one sees on a daily basis.

i am not lying, that is the exact words my neurologist told me and many that day his accountant was in the office with him, all got the talk we are sorry, but due to the ramifications of obama care being signed we cannot continue taking care of medicare/medicaid patients any longer, good luck and we will be glad to send your records to another doctor......i also have the letter they sent out....as do many others......and calling through the doctor referral service here, guess what? no one accepting new medicaid/medicare patients......i know , i have many in the nursing field and some docs in the family.even family won't take said medicare/medicaid.......lady i do not lie, my upbringing demands truth.........

You're another conservative who can't tolerate facts. No doubt, you support more government policy. I wouldn't have a hard time proving you do. If you, for example, use the mortgage interest and dependent deductions on your income tax return, you're using government policies. If you support a huge, bloated military, you support government policy. If you support lower taxes for greedy corporations, you support a government policy. Like most conservatives, you're terribly inconsistent.
