a high-profile presser on the economy last Friday, President Obama’s central proposal was to hire more public employees. Then, in his weekly address, he argued that hiring more public school teachers would allow the U.S. to educate its way to prosperity.
His Republican presidential rival, Governor Romney, has recommended precisely the opposite: reducing the size of government to boost private sector job growth–and he, too, mentions public school teachers. So… who’s right?

AM 2012/06/17 13:00:20Is ROMNEY right, comment if you like+5obama once again proves he's inept at best as to what strengthens an economy. What can be expected from a man with absolutely no education or experience in finance? Following another proven failure the ideology of keynesian economics. We have dumb and dumber Bernake and Geither who have offered nothing more than pumping more(borrowed) money into not only our economy but that of Europe's nearly tripling our investment there it's insanity.Just as pumping more money into the proven failure called our public school system is- specificly the NEA..And who did obama appoint for the job of heading it all? Arne Duncan who headed the biggest failure in education with the highest drop out rate Chicago-Does that make sense to anyone??? But hey he was co captain of Harvard's basketball team so obama has a buddy to shoot some hoops with.

Obama wants everyone working for and dependent on the government so that they can control everyone's lives more easily.
Abolition of Private Property.

• “Concerns about over-regulation are the highest we’ve seen in the past year, with 42% of small businesses citing it as a major concern and 52% citing regulations as the top threat to their business, increasing 9 percentage points since last June.
• What do concerns about regulations and policies mean for small businesses? Stalled growth. 80% of small businesses surveyed report the taxation, regulation, and legislation from Washington make it harder for their business to hire more employees. Nearly three-out-of-four (73%) of small businesses surveyed cite the recent health care law as an obstacle to growing their business and hiring more employees.”

Philadelphia's Superintendent Arlene Ackerman made 450 per year, quit (more like run out of town), sued for 900k, received it and then filed for unemployemtn on top. Over a million dollars wasted on one failed woman.
Merit pay and the removal of seniority or tenure would be better for education, I hated being lumped along side bad teachers.
Charter schools have helped the children (and parents) of Philadelphia.
There's nothing worse than forcing your kids to go to a bad school, give them vouchers.
Glad you replied, I left out the fact that Obama has already been involved with public schools in Chicago and they still don't know where the money went.

"former Weatherman and admitted terrorist William Ayers (whom Obama described in the Philadelphia debate as merely a "neighbor") was head of the operating arm of the CAC, working with Obama on distributing scores of millions of dollars to grantees in the wards of the city, and you have a topic that the Obama campaign wishes to avoid at all costs."

Country before party!
Romney is a brilliant businessman and knows how to get the most bang for the buck.
The US Educational system spends the most $$$ per child and IT SUCKS.
Unless the money is spent wisely, it's a big waste and kids don't get the education they deserve.
