Obama Video on Fox News Criticized as Attack Ad

doofiegirl POTL~PWCM~JLA 2012/06/20 11:42:55
6:53 p.m. | Updated The Fox News Channel came under withering criticism on Wednesday for a four-minute video broadcast on its morning show “Fox & Friends” that portrayed President Obama’s tenure as a series of failed promises.

The video had most of the hallmarks of a campaign attack ad, except that it was produced and paid for by a news network rather than a candidate or a political action committee.

A blogger on the conservative Web site Hot Air wrote of the video on Wednesday afternoon, “It makes a pretty powerful argument against another four years of Barack Obama, but that shouldn’t be the job of news-reporting organizations, even when we like the message.”

I agree that it does have a distinct attack ad flair, but it is a great and powerful message.

Yes, it does look like an attack ad; however, it is not taking anything out of context nor blowing smoke up the buttocks of the voters. What better people to put together information for the general public than the news media? They have total access to the press conferences, interviews, speeches, etc. They have the manpower to conduct research. If the lamestream media had done their job in 2008, we would not have this president, period.

The liberal media did their thorough job of character assassination of the opposition while totally avoiding any vetting for this president. And now somebody wants to criticize Fox News Channel for airing a video that summarizes Obama's own promises in his own words and compares them to actual data? Give me a break.

I hope people really respond in November and realize that hope and change is not serving the people he rules over

It's just Rupert giving a big middle finger to the left and giving them one more reason to hate him.

It should be the task of news reporting organizations. The problem is the other networks have not been doing their jobs and it is so easy to Flail FOX for doing theirs. There is not one untruth ( how could there be when they quote OB's own words?

Sometimes you get a politician whom any reasonable person would decry as incompetent at best, dangerous at worst. This is one of those times.

And let me remind everyone here: CBS and especially NBC have done this sort of thing for years. (ABC, not so much; I think they've quit. CBS might be realizing now that conservative sells better than liberal. But NBC? They're hopeless.)

It probably SHOULDN'T be the "job of news-reporting organizations", but everyone knows that the slimestream media will be churning out tons of such attacks in trying to defend/re-elect their anointed one.

HotAir.com are squeamish. I can understand that. But sometimes you get a political campaign in which neutrality is not an option.
