- Barack Obama told supporters that "change has come to America" as he claimed victory in a historic presidential election.
"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America -- I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you -- we as a people will get there," Obama said in Chicago, Illinois, before an estimated crowd of up to 240,000 people.
With Obama's projected win, he will become the first African-American to win the White House.

"Today, I was a candidate for the highest office in the country I love so much, and tonight, I remain her servant," McCain said.
McCain called Obama to congratulate him, and Obama told the Arizona senator he was eager to sit down and talk about how the two of them can work together.

McCain is a class act. There's no help for Obama, He's in way over his head.View thread
He's trying to have the Government take over everything and control our lives. Goodbye freedom.
Drink deep of my hope-chalice...the aid of kool will make you drool.
In two weeks we have seen tax cheats nominated to top cabinet positions, missile launches by Iran and North Korea, Eastern Europe in disarray, CIA assassinations in Pakistan that have killed civilians and a steep decline in an already bad economy.
You got change, alright.
As far as the cabinet picks, unlike "W", Obama takes full responsibility. Even for Geitner, the life long Republican. Go figure, a President who actually takes responsibility for errors. NK and Iran are testing right now, but they're also testing this new administration. I have every confidence that it will turn out okay. President Obama isn't shaking sabres, sort of believes in using other saner methods. If only he had been around for 9/11. The world would be a heckuva lot safer, with no doubt.
I don't expect anything cleaned up in two weeks or one hundred days or even in 4 years.
I judge a person by their actions so far.
In the two weeks Obama has been president, we have seen a record number of poor decisions.
Need proof?
Obama agrees with me:
>President Obama admits that they are his mistakes
I will have to disagree with you on this one.
Not only did Bush not make this many mistakes 3 weeks into his presidency, he regularly did admit mistakes. This is one of the false allegations we heard all the time from the likes of Matthews and Olber but not true.
Here is some evidence:

CBS is not exactly a friend of Republicans.
As far as CBS "not exactly a friend of Republicans", neither is Fox a friend of the Dems.
But I totally agree with your thoughts here. We are indeed, like it or not, in this gawdawful mess together and the sooner we realize that the better off we'll be.
