That sound you hear is silence—as millions of small business owners and entrepreneurs were left speechless this weekend from President Obama’s latest insult.
The slap in the face to hard-working Americans conveyed Obama’s belief that it takes a village—a heavily subsidized village—to create that venture you’re profiting from:
"Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business—you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."
Obama pushed his policy goals of infrastructure (aka stimulus) spending and “government research” as part of a collectivist utopia “doing things together.” It’s simply stunning that he would tell Americans, “If you’ve got a business—you didn’t build that.”
After all, could individuals be resourceful and hard-working enough to create whole new enterprises? Obama said:
"Look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart."

darcie lamar 2012/07/16 23:15:36NO+21I would wager a bet that Obama never created a business that showed a profit - except for the millions he made off his books that are a fantasy. Did he work 10 hours a day, seven days a week like most small business owners? Right now this POTUS is living high off our tax dollars as he destroys our country. Obama and Michelle are grifters.

he says it took the roads, the closed store next door had the same road to it. makes no sense Obie.
he says a teacher somewhere inspired you, Wrong again Obie, maybe that is what inspired you, but it was my family that inspired me.
He says the national defense makes it possible for you to succeed, The lady that needs someone else to pay her extremely high birth control costs. (busy girl, I guess) has the same national defense.
Dufus Obama, some have the same infrastructure and excel, some suck at the lpublic tit. have you ever had to earn a dollar or has it always been government money that you suck to get?
hey, obomma, send that guy or gal that built my company on down here, I would like to meet them....
obomma, what an ASS
I do not think obomma even has a clue that what he said is so wrong.
obomma so far out of touch ...

There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me -- because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t -- look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some ...

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

He is not right.
The boy could not run a business. If he ran a business anything like he has "led" this country for the past 3 1/2 years he would be living in a cave having to steal food by now.
I don't know where the hell he gets such an idea but he is 100% off base. That boy could not run a kool-aid stand except maybe one like this.
Anybody want to take a sip?

Have ye a great day!
Borrowing money to upgrade our infrastructure now would be like borrowing money to put new plumbing in a house that is already in foreclosure.
Washington collects as much as $25 billion in federal gasoline taxes a year. Ideally -- and ethically -- every penny of those taxes should be spent on federal roads, repairing the old ones and building new ones where needed. But it isn't. Only about 60 percent is used for federal highways and bridges. The rest is spent on whatever Washington decides to use it for....Investor's Business Daily (IBD). http://news.investors.com/art...
In many cases the taxes fund museums, bike paths, trails and lighthouse repair.
A good chunk of the federal gasoline tax is also used to subsidize public transportation -- when the tax was hiked by a nickel in 1982, a penny of that increase was committed to urban transit.
The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.
