    Why won't they give this man a chance.It bothers me because we had a dummy for eight years and they let him run this country in the ground no questions asked.

    No race was not an issue at all for me. My first choice was John Edwards same as my first choice in 2004. But after edwards bowed out I was Obama all the way. I know this black man will treat us much better than Bush has. I am totally optimistic and hopeful of an Obama presidency!

    During the election, we all heard republicans screaming about how we 'played the race card'. Conversely, many republicans I know have told me that their party was accused of using Sarah Palin's gender to win over voters.

    Now that the election's over, I figure that it's way past time to set the record straight. So I'm asking everyone: did race/gender influence YOUR vote at all?
