maybe we should investigate where all the money has gone that gave us nearly 16 trillion in debt. Maybe he and Michelle have a secret vacation slush fund somewhere.....Cape Cod, Bahamas, Europe...you get the picture?

really? I watch Fox news. Just like any mass media, it is crucial to know how to filter out the BS... And I'm a HUGE advocate of ALL rights.. .Which this administration cares NOTHING about... nor did the previous admin.

Well I believe it is being done out of fear...I mean under his own newly passed law, after his 'term' he could be deemed a national security threat...a domestic terrorist...and be held indefinitely with out a trial...so he is just trying to make the additions to his future abode that insure his own comfort...next will be the trail improvements to the beach, a movie theater for the screenings of his hollywood cronies, and of course Club Gitmo wouldn't be complete without a pool bar...

    club gitmo

As long as they force them to watch Jersey Shore, I think it is money well spent...10xs worse that Water Boarding.

The President did sign an executive order to close Gitmo within a year of that order, BUT Congress then passed a resolution that superseded that order and left Gitmo open because of the brouhaha about where they could/ could not be tried . In the House the vote was was 282-131, with Democrats split. In the Senate it was 90 to 6. Just about every member of Congress was screaming at the top of their lungs "over my dead body will you put this prison in my district!! Hell to the NO !" Closing Gitmo was part of the National Defense Authorization Act, so Congress wants it closed?, It can close it. Congress doesn't want these upgrades?, it can stop them.

Where are you going to put the detainees if the Congress won't approve funding to house them anywhere else?

I personally don't think we should spend a dime making these terrorists comfortable and their lives better. Every single one of them would gladly kill the first American they had a chance to get their hands on.

Isn't this the prison he said he'd shut down within the year he took office?
Prison is still prison even if it is a Holiday Inn.

He hasn't done much of what he said that he'd do except spend and spread the wealth around like manure in hopes that it will grow.

January 22, 2009 (that is two days after his inauguration) - He signed an Executive Order and had a press conference - "Guantanamo will be closed by the end of the year."

Hmm, seems to me he is confused

Perhaps Obama figures that he might be sent there when the nation comes to learn that he is a traitor.

We have an obligation to keep our prisoners in humane conditions. Since the congress won't let him close this embarrassment, he has a duty to humanity to ensure that our prisoners are treated humanely.

Oh crap, once again we see things different as I wanted the Kings to win, but then I also was of a mind several years ago that it was a blasphemy that the Dallas Stars won the Stanley Cup. I was having a hard time coming to grips with the fact that these places that didn't really have a winter were taking over hockey. Times there are a changing. Hope you didn't bet more than you could afford.
  • Patric Jane 2012/06/12 13:22:28
    Patric
no , not more than affordable,
gambling is one of the only things I have discipline with, if only I could control my other urges , it was more of a keep me interested type of thing.
you ever do some thing , and add a little extra to the pot, just to keep it interesting ?
  • Jane Patric 2012/06/12 13:30:27
    Jane
Yes I have and gambling is also easy for me to control, like you say there are other things that I need to learn to control. But I really don't need anything to keep me interested in a hockey, I'm not real dedicated to any team but I love the game. We have minor league hockey and it is affordable and great fun.
