Obama Sends Romney Back Into the Fetal Position With Video on the Ryan Budget
By: Jason Easley
August 11th, 2012

Mitt Romney's Paul Ryan bounce was over before it started as the Obama campaign released a new video hitting the Republican ticket hard on the Ryan budget.

Here's the video:

Obama campaign manager Jim Messina also put out a statement,

In naming Congressman Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney has chosen a leader of the House Republicans who shares his commitment to the flawed theory that new budget-busting tax cuts for the wealthy, while placing greater burdens on the middle class and seniors, will somehow deliver a stronger economy. The architect of the radical Republican House budget, Ryan, like Romney, proposed an additional $250,000 tax cut for millionaires, and deep cuts in education from Head Start to college aid.

His plan also would end Medicare as we know it by turning it into a voucher system, shifting thousands of dollars in health care costs to seniors. As a member of Congress, Ryan rubber-stamped the reckless Bush economic policies that exploded our deficit and crashed our economy. Now the Romney-Ryan ticket would take us back by repeating the same, catastrophic mistakes.

The interesting thing about Romney and Ryan's speeches this morning is that they both tried to avoid talking about what Paul Ryan is famous for. They didn't specifically mention the Ryan budget. They talked about preserving Medicare, while hoping that voters wouldn't realize that they plan to save Medicare by killing it and turning it into a voucher system.

The Obama video and Messina's statement both use Paul Ryan to tie Romney to the unpopular House, the policies of George W. Bush, the war on women, and privatizing Medicare and Social Security. It also reinforces the Obama campaign's messages about Romney's stance on the middle class, and his plan to give tax cuts for the wealthy while raising taxes on everyone else.

Instead of separating their candidate from the very unpopular congressional Republicans, the Romney campaign married them. The Romney campaign gave Democrats a message to deliver to those voters who are concerned about the Republican desire to gut Social Security and Medicare. The Ryan budget might be even more well known than Paul Ryan himself, so it a ridiculous for the Romney campaign to try to run away from the it.

Unbelievably Romney has selected a running who can't talk about what he is most famous for or else he will push Independents, seniors, and everybody but the wealthy towards Obama.

okay my democratic, independent and moderate republicans, lets understand something right here and right now. You can post all the facts you want on here, it does not matter if it comes from politifact, factcheck , the CBO or the Tax policy institute it wont matter. You see just today i saw post on here that said Newt Gingrich says dont trust the government or any government agency, dont trust so called non-partisan groups, they are all out to destroy this country and the sad fact is there are a lot of people who will believe what Newt says. So i ask you what do you do with people who automatically have made up their mind, no outside information ever gets in? As a country what do we do with our fellow country men who in one breath can say liberals insult and then in the next call Liberals Odummies? Its clear you cant shame, you cant ignore them, and we certainly cant kill them, and being kind and insightful wont work, so what is left?

Those two are the best choice for the minorities money can buy.
Minority 1% of the richest, that is.

By the way, love the title.

I can't believe there are people stupid enough to vote against their own interests.
They represent the intrinsic weakness of democracy because people are supposed to advance the society, not destroy it.

It is absolutely insane to run on a platform of making our nation's largest issue, disparity, worse.

It is incredible to me that any person who isn't wealthy (or understands the problems) would vote for these class warfare generals... especially considering they have already won, and when the wake of destruction it created is clear for all to see. Giving more to those that already have it has helped nothing, ever.

I disagree republicans will try and hide Ryan's economic plan. The Ryan Plan has to be the single most important issue if they're to be elected. They will have to sell it, only way to win this election. I think it might actually give this election direction with a serious matter worth debate. Have to wonder how Romney and Ryan plan to sell their economic plan, but it was already revealed some time ago, now Ryan goes with the plan into campaign for election into the White House.
There are people that support Ryan's ideas, are there enough of those people in order to win the election? Ryan picked as VP candidate wasn't just some whim, I don't see Romney working like that. Ryan will have a distinct purpose or Romney wouldn't have picked him.

Ryan's purpose is more than obvious. He is expected to bring with him the Tea Baggers and radical nutjobs from the right wing, those intent on destruction of the U.S. Government and the agencies that are given oversight over the banking and financial industries, industrial polluters, and those who are moving our economy to China and India piece by piece. Then, he is the architect of destruction of SS, Medicare, Medicaid, the educational system, and pushing all the money the working middle class can give to the military-industrial corporate complex. That is his purpose, his published goals, his destiny.

Isn't this just a Hoot? Romney has often been called "challenged" by the realities in which most of us live, but he has done little of this magnitude to affirm that he is basically stupid.
His campaign is spinning down the drain, even among hard-core Republicans, as he has offended so many large groups - evangelicals, females, unemployed, the poor, elderly, students, handicapped, and more. The only groups he has attempted to attract are military, Reagan Bankers, and the "Top 2% Club". By bringing Ryan's budget on board he
offends more, the elderly, SS and Medicare beneficiaries, all of America's middle class working taxpayers, and the entire educational processes, including administrators and teachers at every level. What in the world is he thinking?

Ah, ha..... you are on to something. When Romney introduced Ryan he called him "The next president"..... Could it be that Romney realizes he is a hopeless
candidate and at the convention will step aside and let Ryan be nominated? Yes,
that sounds like a desperate plan for the Reagan Banks and Wall Street to spring
a surprise on the twenty factions of the Republican Party that would be helpless
to prevent the spin from happening. Romney could then hope to become the Secretary of Treasury and be free to move America's banking system and all the loose industries to China and India, outsourcing all the Federal Agency jobs.... all the things he does so well. Good plan, Mitten, good plan.

They do care about winning, or at least their corporate masters do. They are just puppets. Their masters want to control the government and the best way to do that is elect Republicans, and very far right wing. You know I see the word "Communist" and "Marxist" and "Socialist" on this site every day, and its always right wingnuts that utter those words. I just cannot imagine not thinking for myself. Conservatives will wax lyrical that Communism is evil. It is not evil in any way, it just does not work. I know that Karl Marx was a good man, who saw the evils of the rich exploiting the poor , and he wrote about it.
People have been so brainwashed in this country, and it is just what corporations and the plutocracy want them to believe. Republicans scream about "European style socialism" as if it is evil incarnate. Socialism isn't evil..... it is fair.... to everyone.
Corporations hate Socialism because it would deprive them of power, and the right to essentially do whatever they want. Rip people off, pollute the environment, end all safety nets...... and if they can weaken the government enough, then who can stop them?
Socialism does work very well and it is the best system of government in my opinion.

Society has always found itself in the basic assumptions that all people are created with some equality and have "rights" to not be pillaged and plundered by those stronger than themselves. Without that belief humans are just packs of animals with the highest intelligence potential of all the mammals.

The various forms by which "sharing" is accomplished by social contracts varies from outright gifts from the stronger, to religious groups sharing the "tithes", to modest Governmental programs, then on to hard core socialism and even to the thing called "Communism" which is really just a military type control mechanism not requiring any particular mechanism of allocating resources. Those who make the silly talky-talk you find here on SH damming "socialism" don't understand the necessity that orderly society finds for means of preventing the stronger from holding the weaker in bondage.

Almost totally, they haven't a clue how they are chained to serfdom by the Reagan Banks, corporations, and the programs called "Reaganomics" and "conservative agenda" which empowers the very wealthy to further pillage the 98% who are of lesser means and without power to control their own destiny. Those form the "grassroots" of the Republican Party, seduced by other diversions such as religion, abortion, gay rights, guns, fears of this and that.

It is only scare tactics that the Obama administration is using. The Republicans are not going to abandon poor people. They never have. I've known plenty of sick people during the Bush presidency who had cancer and other sicknesses and they got all their medical bills paid. That would be almost the same thing under Romney, because they know the Medicare system is broken and it needs to be reformed. The only one who is going to screw up America is Obama, by outsourcing job to other nations and giving away our tax dollars to them. He has no intentions of working on the deficit. He wants to continue printing money and giving it away.It is so obvious, he is using Americans to be submissive too the new world order, the evidence is all there in front of you. It is no longer "One Nation Under God." It is soon to be "All Nations Under the Devil."
