The spin keeps on spinning. Now, it's Obama saying Romney will raise taxes on the middle class to keep the tax breaks going for the super wealthy. Sounds fishy to me. Is Obama right, or is it true that Mitt Romney is planning to raise taxes on the middle class?

ABCNEWS.GO.COM reports:
AKRON, Ohio – President Obama today pounced on a new report that found Mitt Romney’s economic plan would raise taxes on the majority of Americans and give tax breaks to the super wealthy, telling supporters in the battleground state of Ohio that his opponent wants them to pay more so that “people like him” can get a tax cut.

    Yes.

Romney knows that by pandering to the ultra-ultra-ultra-wealthy he will win the election.

They make up the majority of voters in swing states like Ohio, Indiana and New Mexico.

Jobs is the key, and who employ's?
    The private sector, mainly.

Now, what happens when they stop hiring because business dried up? Should we give more money to those that already have it while taking away from those that do not? That has never, ever worked. Ever. My last link, a very good book, explains the issues with this in detail. Our nation does VASTLY better when our disparity is less... instead of the now #1 disparity in the Western world, and half of this nation wanting to make it worse, as a fix. *sigh*

Respond to the points before going off on rhetorical rants, please.

    Thank you!

That's exactly what this administration is doing. They are giving billions to the richest institutions and people in the world. Ever heard of Quantitative easing ??
That is socialism, in the wrong direction!

The largest corporations are the biggest freeloaders and I hear nothing but take from the small business owners.

That will destroy America, they already have to contend with one of the biggest tax increases on the middle class and small businesses, known as ObamaCare. Did my small business get the exemption like wal-mart and mcdonalds? Are you gonna help me pay?? For what? Most of all tax collected is paid to derivatives, or paying back china for our bombing.

$250K a year AGI for the owner of true small business is rare and is the sign of possibly three things - 1) an owner not interested in growing their business by reinvesting in capital and HR needs 2) they do their own taxes and keep crappy records 3) they're in an illegal industry and expensing 'grow lights' and rent on the grow op house is something they don't want to put in their taxes or 4) they have a really BAD tax acountant. Just in case you are an idiot (you probably aren't but an idiot may stuble upon this) $250K AGI in a small business is WAY WAY WAY different than $250K revenue.... And if YOU ARE taking $250K AGI out of your business maybe a higher tax rate will convince you to invest some more money growing your business VALUE with more employees or more capital.

Have you ever ran a business? $250k revenue are small business owners by gov. statistics. The only true production left in America besides farming employing 78% of the population, and again by there own statistics, in this Quantitative Easing, inflationary, suppressed economy they put 30% on average, of their personal revenue back into the business.

This presidency has added 4 trillion to the debt in three years. That's for our children i guess.

Yes--- I had a small business and derived about $150-225 annual income (before personal exemptions and deductions) on revenues between $450K and $775. This is INCOME not REVENUE tax so a $250K revenue operation is in no way impacted by the Presidents proposal. INCOME is not REVENUE although apparently the Republican Party skipped accounting classes. An additional piece of math to consider is that we're talking a marginal rate so a 4% increase on somebody deriving a taxable income of 300K (after any exemptions, credits and deductions so a $350-400Kish Gross) will cost them only the marginal rate on the income ABOVE $250K. This is what I paid 10 years ago and I did just fine.

"You dont get it. Households that make around 250K a year are small buisness owners!"

That's a fallacy. Many, MANY people who make 250K a year are not business owners. The GOP is relentlessly beating the drum that they are, but that doesn't change facts...

And do you even read your own links? You claim that Obama is "The REAL OUT-SOURCER", yet the link you provide about an ad claiming Obama has outsourced tons of jobs states that:

"According to the ad, the stimulus included:

    ■ '$1.2 billion to a solar company that’s building a plant in Mexico.' Actually, the loans were to finance a solar ranch built and operated in California....

■'Half a billion to an electric car company that created hundreds of jobs in Finland.' Actually, the first round of government loans to Fisker Automotive went toward design, engineering, sales and marketing work done in the U.S....

■'And tens of millions of dollars to build traffic lights in China.' Actually, the traffic lights were assembled in the U.S...."

Are you kidding me? A 500 million dollar check to a foreign company is saved because 1/10th will have a American hold on it on some stage.

    Give me a break...

Why don't I hear anything about the muli national conglomerates that walk away with BILLIONS? Maybe because they are pulling the strings?
  • Grandbr... KG 2012/08/07 16:48:40

Nothing's gone to Finland from that $500 million. The first round of funding went, as already stated, to work done in the U.S., and the "second round of funding has gone for development of a second, less-costly line of cars that the company plans to build in a shuttered GM facility in Delaware."

The average household (everyone over 18 that gains a check under one roof) is under $52k a year. Entire families... not individuals. $52k. Half of American families earn less than this.

5 times more than the average household is absolutely wealthy.
