Colorado -–(Ammoland.com)- In an executive order the Obama Administration has secretly blocked the re-importation of American made M-1 Garand and Carbine rifles being stored in South Korea.

These rifles were used by the US military during the Korean War and left there after the war was over.

With one stroke of his pen, he by-passed the legislative process and banned nearly a million American made rifles by executive fiat.

Grenade launcher here in the States ! Hello now. We have to stop this gun thing and think about how many milions of weapons are already here. When is enough guns enough ?
Guns are plentiful and there is no shortage of guns, hand guns or ammo. Gun freaks have to lighten up. I am a Vietnam combat Marine and have lots of firearms. M-1 and 30 Caliber Carbines are old hat and are very antique. One is very heavy and now impractical for even hunting. These are semi-auto and should stay in storage. Get real now. We don't need to fuel the fires on guns all the time.

Even though I have 2 M1 Garands (one came from the DCM and one is National Match) and 3 M1 Carbines, I can see his point. These are semi-automatic weapons with tremendous firepower that can be sold under 'Antique, Curio & Relic' laws (applies to guns over 50 years old) which means they can be sold cash-and-carry over the counter with no DOJ background checks. Most of the Korean War carbines are either the M2 select-fire versions or M1's that have been field modified for full auto. The M1 carbines that are still in their original semi-auto state can also be easily converted to full auto. The M1 Garands are 8 round .30-06 caliber and can also fire anti-tank grenades by attaching an $8 bayonet-mounted grenade adapter available through mail-order houses. I would think these are not the kind of things any clown should be able to buy over the counter.

I think executive orders were meant to be and should be used only for an emergency action when there is not time to go through congress.It should be in effect only until congress can meet and deal with the emergency.Congressmen can and should over-ride this and most executive orders that any over zealous president makes. We are not ruled by a king that can make decrees at his whim. This is unacceptable.
