"And then I spoke to the women's gymnastics team," President Obama said at a campaign event in Akron, Ohio.
"Let me just say, you know, I know how to run, al though I don't run as fast as these guys. I know how to swim, al though I don't swim as fast. These gymnasts, I don't understand what they're doing. I cannot even walk on a balance beam. They're doing backflips," he said.

"Little itty-bitty young ladies. Unbelievable," Obama observed.

I think he was admiring them. His kids are probably taller than most women gymnasts -- that's probably kind of amazing to him.

He's an intellectual, you know. Deal with it. You don't have to like it, you don't have to understand it, you just have to KNOW it.

It was on the news and was clear to anybody with working brain cells that he complimenting the US womens' gymnastics team as well as others. He's a good sport and so are the gymnasts. Why are't you?

Why is his comment considered to be "poking fun" at them? he was expressing how impressed he was with them and they ARE itty bitty. Being tiny is kind of a requirement for being a gymnast.

Let's just grasp at straws. The gymnasts are very small, big deal. If I read that Romney said that, I'd say the same things. He was complimenting them. You know, when I see them doing flips and things on the balance beam, it really blows my mind. Go USA!

They are itty bitty, he spoke the truth and it sounds to me like he was teasing them. They know they are small they have to be to be a gymnaist. A large person can't do gymnastics.
