And it's pretty telling from those poll numbers (and trends) that Obama's numbers are tied to the unemployment rate. His highest lead was in early may, before the June jobs numbers were released. If the unemployment rate doesn't get better, I don't see him opening up a big gap again.

If the scandals in the Obama administration keep mounting, such as in the case of Fast & Furious and the White House security leaks, I'd have to say Romney. Sooner or later even the more somnolent American is bound to wake up to the corruption endemic in the Obama presidency!

What's your point? What does Cheney have to do with this? If Fast & Furious did start in 2009 (and it did), it occurred under the purview of the Obama administration. It remains to be seen from whence the the security leaks emanated, but the common view is that, given the nature of the leaks, they had to have come from the highest levels of government. Holder's attempts to stonewall the investigation into Fast and Furious would indicate, to any thinking person, that he is concealing some nefarious activity that occurred on his watch and that the President himself may possibly be involved. Where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

Obama took office on January 20, 2009; F&F appears to be used to support the allegations that all the weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels come from the US (when many come across the southern border or by way of the Mexican coastline from Russia and other countries). Even Holder has now admitted that he was wrong when he tried to put the blame on the Bush Administration. As for the security leaks from the WH, they were from 'closed meetings' in the situation room. Do you really think Cheney has contacts that close to the President? You are just grasping at straws here!

Holder himself has recanted his allegations that the Bush Administration allowed guns to walk without the knowledge of the Mexican Government or tracking them. And how is trying to discover who is responsible for the non-tracking walking that led to the death of a Border Agent a 'distraction?' Distraction from what?
