Obama told supporters at a campaign rally on Thursday that the federal government needs to fund more research to ensure “the next Thomas Edison, the next Wright brothers.”

"The private sector can’t do it alone, especially when it comes to basic research,” he added.

Personally I think AmeriKa's days of great inventors are behind her. What truly intelligent person is going to invent anything of consequence when it will either be stolen by corporations or the government or both? What Obama and his ilk really want is collectively indoctrinated comrades working the brain farm for chump change and they are not going to find Einstein's, Edison's, Tesla's or the Wright brothers anywhere near their corporate sweat shops or communal prisons.
