Ryan's Medicare plan is Exhibit A in Cruelty. It does nothing to help with the deficit. It is imbalanced in that he wants to force the elderly to make market choices in one of the most opague markets in this country. It would eradicate long term care for the elderly poor. If this isn't class warfare, then what is ??

As for cuts to Medicare, Obama's plan makes no cuts to beneficiaries. That $716 billion that Romney and Ryan LIE about will come from curtailing the costs of Medicare Advantage plans, which has subsized private insurers, and cuts in hospital reimbursements for needless testing and cost over runs. And here is a coincidence... now Paul Ryan has included those very same cuts in his own plan. Yet, the weasel calls Obama a Medicare thief while he adopts a major part of Obamacare. Ryan also would re-open the Medicare prescription coverage gap called the doughnut hole and raise the Medicare eligibility age from the current 65 to 67.

Ryan pitched in Florida that his mother is a "Medicare senior in Florida." Oh, really? Is Medicare her one and only health insurance? Does she depend solely on it for her health care needs? Really, Ryan? You expect us to believe that ?

Romney and Ryan are outright liars. I don't know how they can go before a crowd and lie to their faces like that. Obama did not take money from Medicare. He revised the increases in payments to doctors/hospitals and other services over the next ten years to save money. He DID NOT CUT ANY BENEFITS!! and he DID NOT TAKE ANY MONEY FROM THE MEDICARE TRUST FUND!
I just hope that people, especially the elderly, are not taken in by Ryan's and Romney's lies!

Soviet tactics, eh? LOL. Nice try Romney/Ryan. Obama will win that debate over their blatant lies. Ryan is stealing the same 716 billion for vouchers down the road which will take benefits away if the ACA is repealed, and also their tax cuts go to the rich. The GOP has been anti Medicare and Social Security since enacted, and the majority know that.

I laugh at this guy. Don't touch Social Security and Medicare for seniors over 55, but hand out vouchers for the next generation of retirees. Why? Sell out the next generation's Social Security and Medicare to appease the baby boomers, the majority and not scare their critical vote away. This is the type of politician we vote in and pay 150,000 dollars a year. He'll eat steak, have a full government pension, full medical coverage, even if he's was voted out this year. The rest of us and the next generation will visit, the ever expanding pawn shops, just to cover our medical costs and supplement the little we do get from Social Security. Tells me who he's looking out for and its not everyone else...

Good post, easy to follow. With these facts in hand i have not heard Romney or Ryan specifically dispute them. Now if their contention were true, wouldn't they respond to this?

When the House Republicans tried unsuccessfully to repeal the ACA the Speaker asked for a report from the CBO on the issue. The CBO report said repealing ACA would increase the deficit, which would increase the national debt. The CBO report said repealing the ACA would cause the government to spend an extra $711B on medicare that the ACA saved. This is where Romney and Co are twisting the facts and telling a lie. Search the CBO page for H.R. 6079 and read the report. Never mind here is the link: http://www.cbo.gov/publicatio...

    Two questions:

    1. Was Medicare funding cut?

    2. Who cut it?

    Two answers:
1.Medicare was not cut ...It was expanded. Payment percentages allowed insurance companies was cut.
    2. There was no cut in the funding if the plan, but the cut to insurance companies was part of the ACA.(Obama care)

Funding for medicare was not cut. ACA saves the medicare program $716B according to the CBO. Romney and Co have decided to twist that fact to mean the President took $716B for medicare. NO money cut from medicare, no coverage cut from medicare.

Republicans lie about Obama to make him look bad, and Obama lies about himself or about something having to do with him to make him look good.

Oh how I love our governments honesty.

Reverse Robinhood and Jr. 2.0 doesn't care about getting called out, because they believe repeating the lie consistently and people will believe it. Often that does work, which is why it's so important they we continue to speak out on it.
