Obama Issues Executive Order – Internet buzzing with rumors of Martial Law

Over the Weekend The White House released an Executive Order that has created an uproar across the internet. Many are warning that this executive order has created the catalyst for President Obama to declare Martial Law in the U.S.

Late Friday Afternoon, the White House releases executive order “National Defense Resources Preparedness.” The order has created a huge amount of buzz around the internet with many believing that the language in the bill gives the president dictatorial power to do everything from seizing whole industries to drafting private armies.

The Examiner Wrote:

President Obama signed an Executive Order for “National Defense” yesterday that claims executive authority to seize all US resources and persons, including during peacetime, for self-declared “national defense.”

Canada Free Press Warns:

Under this order the heads of these cabinet level positions; Agriculture, Energy, Health and Human Services, Transportation, Defense and Commerce…. The Government can take food, livestock, fertilizer, farm equipment, all forms of energy, water resources, all forms of civil transportation and any other materials, including construction materials from wherever they are available.

While the language in this bill should be a cause for concern to anyone who worries about their freedom, I want to warn that it’s actually nothing new. In fact, it is very similar to bills that have been signed into order by both President Clinton and President Bush.

The fact is, it really doesn’t matter who is in power. None of them have faith in the American people ability to be self-reliant, and they all seem hell bent on taking away the peoples power to increase their own control.

So what’s in the Executive order?

The order can actually be seen on the White House Website. Some of the highlights include:

Policies relating to a Draft – The Secretary of Labor, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of other agencies, shall upon request by the Director of Selective Service, and in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, assist the Director of Selective Service in development of policies regulating the induction and deferment of persons for duty in the armed services.

The Creation of a National Defense Executive Reserve - The Secretary of Homeland Security will establish a National Defense Executive Reserve (NDER) and be responsible for recruitment, training, monitoring, and activation of NDER units in times of a national defense emergency.
