Obama is victim of Bush's failed promises. by Chuck Green

Obama is victim of Bush's failed promises

Barack Obama is setting a record-setting number of records during his first year in office.
Largest budget ever. Largest deficit ever. Largest number of broken promises ever. Most self-serving speeches ever. Largest number of agenda-setting failures ever. Fastest dive in popularity ever.

Wow! Talk about change.

Just one year ago. fresh from his inauguration celebrations. President Obama was flying high. After one of the nation's most inspiring political campaigns, the election of America's first black president had captured the hopes and dreams of millions. To his devout followers, it was inconceivable that a year later his administration would be gripped in self-imposed crisis.

Of course, they don't see it as self-imposed. It's all George Bush's fault.

George Bush, who doesn't have a vote in congress and who no longer occupies the White House, is to blame for it all.

He broke Obama's promise to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.

He broke Obama's promise to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.

He broke Obama's promise to end earmarks.

He broke Obama's promise to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.

He broke Obama's promise to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.

He broke Obama's promise to make peace with direct, no precondition talks with America's most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.

He broke Obama's promise to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high White House jobs.

He broke Obama's promise to end no-compete contracts with the government.

He broke Obama's promise to disclose the names of all attendees at closed White House meetings.

He broke Obama's promise for a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.

He broke Obama's promise to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday services with his family by Easter of last year.

Yes. it's all George Bush's fault. President Obama is nothing more than a puppet in the never-ending. failed Bush administration.
If only George Bush wasn't still in charge, all of President Obama's problems would be solved. His promises would have been kept, the economy would be back on track, Iran would have stopped its work on developing a nuclear bomb and would be negotiating a peace treaty with Israel. North Korea would have ended its tyrannical regime, and integrity would have been restored to the federal government.

Oh, and did I mention what it would be like if the Democrats. under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, didn't have the heavy yoke of George Bush around their necks? There would be no ear marks, no closed-door drafting of bills, no increase in deficit spending, no special-interest influence (unions), no vote buying (Nebraska, Louisiana).

If only George Bush wasn't still in charge, we'd have real change by now.

All the broken promises, all the failed legislation and delay (health care reform, immigration reform) is not President Obama's fault or the fault of the Democrat-controlled Congress. It's all George Bush's fault.

Take for example the decision of Eric Holder, the president's attorney general, to hold terrorists' trials in New York City. Or his decision to try the Christmas Day underpants bomber as a civilian.

Two disastrous decisions.

Certainly those were bad judgments based on poor advice from George Bush.

Need more proof?

You might recall that when Scott Brown won last month's election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, capturing "the Ted Kennedy seat," President Obama said that Brown's victory was the result of the same voter anger that propelled Obama into office in 2008. People were still angry about George Bush and the policies of the past 10 years. and they wanted change.

Yes, according to the president, the voter rebellion in Massachusetts last month was George Bush's fault.

Therefore, in retaliation, they elected a Republican to the Ted Kennedy seat, ending a half-century of domination by Democrats.
It is all George Bush's fault.

Will the failed administration of George Bush ever end, and the time for hope and change ever arrive?

Will President Obama ever accept responsibility for something... – anything?

Instead of finger pointing and name calling I think it's fair to say there's plenty of blame to go around, backwards and forwards, from both parties. It has been happening for a long time, decades and presidencies and WE didn't connect the dots. We were busy working and taking care of our families and spending time with our friends and missing what was happening to our country. We were not completely oblivious, but we were not connecting the dots.

We are all in this boat together, just like we were on 9/11/2001 when for one day and several there after; none of us were the least bit concerned about being democrats, republicans, libertarians. We were united 100% as Americans. That's what my wish is for us all every day. We are endowed by our creator to be different – and thanks to many brave people from 1773 on; generation after generation of people, from all parties who lived and died, gained and sacrificed for America. Lee Greenwood said it best in God Bless the USA, "and I'll stand up NEXT TO YOU and defend her still today, there ain't no doubt I love this land, GOD BLESS THE USA!"
    We --
-don't want God taken out or erased from our hallowed halls and walls.
-don't believe that Global Warming and all this green baloney is anything but a scheme to make SOME rich people...

    We --
-don't want God taken out or erased from our hallowed halls and walls.
-don't believe that Global Warming and all this green baloney is anything but a scheme to make SOME rich people richer.
    -don't want one world order.
-or to share our wealth simply because some nut jobs think it's a good idea. Do you ever hear them giving up one penny of their wealth? Or telling people to send their speakers fees to the poor or homeless? No and you never will. Because they don't want to share THE wealth or THEIR wealth (which they clearly could do by forming an organization to do so.) No they want to share OUR wealth. However with all the taxes they keep adding and rate hikes they keep warning us about, prices going up thanks to their hair-brained ideas; what wealth are we going to have left? I don't know about you but mine is dwindling faster than the national debt is growing.
-don't want the government giving us orders about --
health care, what cars to drive, what to eat, what to drink, or be our source for a mortgage, insurance, or any of the other decisions we want to choose for ourselves. We don’t want them running the banks! Have you ever seen “It’s A Wonderful Life?” If not, you need to do so. Because the government is Mr. Potter. I don’t want to live in Potterville! I graduated high school in 1973. The women's movement was new then, and their BIG push -- the reason they emerged was because they didn't want anyone (especially the government to dictate to them what they could or couldn't do to their bodies.) Whether we agree about that or not, it was about freedom. However SOME of those same women today are for BIGGER government and it's OK with them if the government takes over everything. Huh? We want America (land of the free, and home of the brave) back how she was. We need to clean house, in both parties and send a clear message that they are PUBLIC SERVANTS. Not dictators up there to make decisions for us, but to represent us. There's a lot of cleaning house to do. We have missed hundreds of Spring cleanings. You don't really want one big connected world order do you? You don't want them to take your money and property -- put it in one big pot divvy it out to every human being on earth do you? So we will all live on bread and water in huts? Do you see them living like that? Don't you see that in other countries the emperors and kings and dictators and what have you live in palaces, while the people have nothing?
    I rest my case.
    Happy Memorial Day
    and God Bless us all!

It doesn't belong on public walls and halls. You can put them in your house and your place of worship. It doesn't belong on anything else.

"-don't believe that Global Warming and all this green baloney is anything but a scheme to make SOME rich people richer."
You can deny what the rest of the world has accept and believes. We are all in this together. If you don't want to be a part of saving our planet, then don't be but don't be an obstructionist for those that care about it for our children and grandchildren. People thought the sun revolved around the earth and fought against that too - along with their church. But we all know that isn't true - well MOST of us know that now.

    "don't want one world order."
Little chance of that EVER happening. And no one else wants it either. Its propaganda and conspiracy theories. Little chance of convincing you of that IF you ACTUALLY believe this crock of crap.

Guess what? I don't want to share mine either. It's the nut jobs who think we are going to have to. Going back to the tax structure that was under the Clinton years isn't exactly "redistributing wealth" - it's called paying your fair share. People still obtained and maintained their wealth during those years. And they will under Obama too. I'm not worried.

If you go to the IRS and check the tax tables for 2008 and 2009 you will see that they actually went DOWN in 2009 (Under Obama) - UNLESS you made over $250K which is what reversing the tax cuts for the rich that bush did. Then you pay 2% more - as you did when Clinton was president. That is not a whole lot to give up in order to stabilize health care costs for us all.

I'm getting tired of having to point this all out to people who obviously "don't get it"

EDITED IN SINCE I"M NOW BLOCKED BY ELAINE. Apparantly she is afraid that she wouldn't be able to respond to any of my points. The same people that spout about freedom of speech are the first ones to block.

Why is it acceptable for Republicans to blame 9/11 on the Clinton administration refusing to extradite Osama bin Laden in 1996, but Democrats aren't allowed to blame the 2009 economic crisis on Bush's 2008 economic handling?

Nobody blames Clinton for failing to extradite ObL, people with common sense blame Clinton for Jamie Gorelick's "wall" between the Intelligence and Law Enforcement Communities allowing both of them to have half of the puzzle pieces and not being allowed - by law - to share those pieces with one another. So, your only defense of Obama is a straw man argument against Bush?

    Liberalism is a mental disorder...

When all the bad stuff happened after 1999, it was all blamed on Clinton (even though that had been the best time for the country since Nixon took office), soooo YEP, it's Bush's fault. I agree with both of you (kinda)!

It wasn't until the House and Senate were taken over by conservatives (Contract with America era?) that CLINTON had no choice but to adopt a more moderate slightly right of middle of the road politics. It was CONGRESS at that time that drove the good times. Not Clinton. The same will happen over the next two years if there is another conservative take over of the house and senate. Obama will be forced to move to the right or continue to be an utter failure. Personally unless that happens we are looking at another CARTER single term Presidency for BO.

Well, Bush actually did help to get us into this mess however, we weren't in so deep at the time that we couldn't have turned everything around. Thanks to Obama, there is little hope that we will be out of this mess for a long, long time. This whole mess has been orchestrated and is playing out quite well, by "their" standards.

You see this is about the three envelopes that each President has to open on his first term.

Envelope 1) Note: Dear Obama you can blame me for everything for the first few months of your term. If thing are not getting better by the first year you need to open the second envelope.

    GWB

Envelope 2) Note: Well Mr. President if you are reading this note things are not going well for you. But at this point in time you need to own up to everything. What ever you do is on you at this point. If after doing so and your plans are still not working by the end of your second term you need to open the 3rd envelope.

Envelope 3) PREPARE ANOTHER THERE ENVELOPES.

It is time For Obama to open the third envelope since he has decided not to open the 2nd one yet nor will he ever!!!
