So,you are now spreading Bravo Sierra propaganda that Gov. Romney is worse then the "Destroyer in Chief" Barack Obama!!!!

Just click on the Amazon link to the book "The Great Destroyer: Barack Obama's War on the Republic" http://www.amazon.com/The-Gre...

And click on the book image to read the introduction to get a overview of the long list of unconstitutional actions of Obama. While he has been in office!

If you can read that list of unconstitutional crimes of the present Marxist occupier of the White House. And still claim he's still better then Gov.Romney.Then I think you have lost your mind.Or you really are an uncover Obama campaign supporter, in disguise.Running a dirty bigoted disinformation campaign blog for him!

While Romney was not my first choice for POTUS, Ron Paul lost ALL my support with his isolationist desires!!! Good grief, as you yourself stated, "everybody has enough sense to know", that with the majority of the world tied tightly together through our economies, isolationism would only serve to destroy the WORLD's economy, and not just our own!!!

While RP has had many good ideas, like auditing the Federal Reserve for one, he has come out with several ridiculous notions, the most worthless one being his isolationist desires for this nation!!!

You "claim" on your profile to be a "trained investigator", yet, you've obviously taken the "Ron Paul hook, line and sinker" WITHOUT CREDIBLE INVESTIGATION, and now that your "messiah" has FAILED in his nomination attempts, you "Paulinistas" throw a temper tantrum, and "believe everything the talking heads on your 'mind control devices' tell you"!!!

Please be CAREFUL!!! You could suffer aluminum poisoning from wearing your aluminum foil hat so tightly!!!

Considering Ron Paul wants completely free trade and travel, your insistence that he's an "isolationist" says a lot more about you than it says about him: It shows that you do not believe trade and travel are valid forms of interaction with other countries. Instead, you apparently believe the only valid forms of interaction with other countries are war, bombing, setting up military bases worldwide, meddling in their internal affairs with state department shenanigans and CIA operations, and foreign aid. The irony is, unlike trade and travel, which are very open and engaging policies, the kind of "interaction" you prefer actually does serve to isolate the US.

The childish naivety of "free trade and free travel" sounds wondrous, until you look at it FACTUALLY!!! Apparently you would prefer the U.S. to knock down her borders in order to "freely" trade and travel, of course when you look at the FACTS, the U.S. has the most LENIENT travel AND trade laws of ANY nation already!!! And once again, the FACTS show that the U.S. has taken it on the chin from those very issues!!!

One only needs to look at NAFTA to know that Ross Perot was correct in his assessment of what we could expect if NAFTA was passed, he warned that we would hear a giant sucking sound from all of the job losses in the U.S. if it passed, and we most definitely HAVE!!! Also, the FACT is, without a treaty similar to NAFTA, there is NO nation in the world that would FREELY & FAIRLY TRADE, period!!!

Your "Utopian" dreams of having worldwide "completely free trade and travel", and gutting the military like Carter did, would do nothing more than complete the economic demise, and place this nation's liberties and freedom into the hands of our enemies!!!

If your desire is as you preach, move to Switzerland and live your isolationist dream!!!

    Surely you're NOT that stupid?!?

The requisite of taxes and tariffs in trade keeps the playing field LEVEL, and "protectionism" is NOT "isolationism". You OBVIOUSLY haven't a clue about protectionism nor isolationism so I'll post the Merriam-Webster definitions for YOUR benefit!!!

    http://www.merriam-webster.co...

    Definition of PROTECTIONIST

: an advocate of government economic protection for domestic producers through restrictions on foreign competitors

    http://www.merriam-webster.co...

    Definition of ISOLATIONISM

: a policy of national isolation by abstention from alliances and other international political and economic relations

"and other international political and economic relations" - like trade and travel.

Protectionism in and of itself is not isolationism, but it moves further in that direction, regardless of whatever merits you perceive in it. Moreover, our current foreign policy, policing the world and setting ourselves up as an empire above other nations instead of diplomatic equals, is indeed quite isolating.

Not at all, you have NO "counter argument" to make!!!

You didn't comprehend the difference between isolationism and protectionism until I PROVIDED you their definitions, and then, all you could spew was your drivel, "Protectionism in and of itself is not isolationism, but it moves further in that direction".

Fact is, you've become a petty, whiny, loser just like Paul.

Your initial claim was that Paul is an isolationist. By the very definition you provided, he is not, because the trade and travel he supports are economic relations, whether you like them or not.

Protectionism - restricting trade* and travel - is therefore a step toward isolationism. Similarly, our foreign policy of empire and domination isolates us in a symbolic sense.

You apparently have no counterarguments to these points other than baseless characterizations of them as "drivel," along with generic personal insults. Duly noted.

*As a side note, protectionism runs counter to the majority advice of economists from all major schools for reasons beyond the scope of this discussion. Like Perot though, I oppose NAFTA, and so does Ron Paul in case you were unaware. However, it is not the "free trade" agreement it's billed as anyway. Just having "Free Trade" in its name doesn't mean anything. It's a managed trade agreement. The only thing you need for genuine free trade is a lack of barriers (and I know you support barriers, but that's beside the point), not complicated agreements and an organization like the WTO; as soon as those get involved, it's a red flag that the trade is being set up to be unbalanced. NAFTA and GATT have indeed contributed to the hollowing of our econo...

NAFTA and GATT have indeed contributed to the hollowing of our economy, but they only exacerbate a situation caused by excessive regulations (especially price controls on labor) and a petrodollar system that requires other countries to sell to us at any cost to get dollars for oil.

It's obvious that you still don't comprehend the differences between "isolationism" and "protectionism" by YOUR own statement, "our foreign policy of empire and domination isolates us", it is "protectionism", and NOT "isolationism" as you PRETEND it to be!!!

Simply because you reject the definitions does NOT make them any less accurate.

This nation GIVES MORE to virtually ALL nations than ANY other nation in the world, and by so doing, we gain their trust and support FAR GREATER than what we accomplish militarily, however, had we followed the RP lunacy of turning our military backs to all nations that truly need our military support, and allowing nations like South Korea, Poland, France, England, Spain, etc., to "protect themselves" until such time as our OWN borders were breached, there would be but THREE nations in the world today, the Soviet Union, China, and Nazi Germany!!!

  • Michael S. ☆Ed☆ 2012/09/02 06:58:29 (edited)

You're right...that has to be the problem. There's no other explanation, because I'm completely devoid of the skills it would take to differentiate an open-minded person expressing emphasis from manic screaming and insurmountable bias. Perhaps if I had seen more examples of both, I might be a better judge, but I don't read, so emphasis of any kind just escapes my comprehension entirely.

I don't believe that Obama or Romney are fit to hold the office of President, according to their capacity to remain loyal to the Constitution, and operate within the delegated powers and authority given to the Federal government by the States and people. They both believe in taking property from We the People and giving it to private corporations, the unlimited war-making powers of the President as a military despot, global government building through the destruction of national sovereignty, etc. Romney has already admitted he does what the lobbyists want, regardless of the Constitution.
