President Obama continued his push for the extension of the payroll tax cut on Tuesday during aswing through Kansas.

Or was it Texas?

While making his introduction to what he called a "make or break moment for the middle class," Obama appeared to stumble over which state he was in.

"It is great to be back in the state of Tex--," Obama said, before cutting himself off and correcting himself with a smile. "State of Kansas."

Obama made a quick recovery, claiming that he was making a joke about the University of Kansas basketball coach.

"I was giving Bill Self a hard time. He was here a while back," he said.

This is why you do not read from a teleprompter, heh I wished we had teleprompters in school when we had to get up in front of the class to do a speech or something.

Conservatives have no sense of humor. They can't tell when someone is joking.

Annoying but understandable. A bigger pet-peeve of mine is when politicians (and their wives -- aka Michelle Obama) mispronounce the names of states. In the west, we natives make use of the "short a," which effects the way that such states as Nevada and Colorado are pronounced.
