Obama Has 21 Days to Drop Biden: Would Dumping Biden Signal Desperation?

President Obama has a lot of pressure to dump Vice President Joe Biden from the 2012 election campaign. Biden would not likely run for president in 2016 at the age of 73. Biden, a former Senator from Delaware, doesn't help with voters in the swing states like Florida, Virginia, Ohio or Pennsylvania. And Biden continues to bore people except with his gaffes ("20th Century") or outlandish rhetoric (accusing Republicans of enslaving people).

President Obama could shake things up by replacing Biden with Secretary Hillary Clinton as his vice president on his 2012 re-election ticket. Some pundits argue that would signal desperation by the Obama 2012 campaign because it would look as if Obama made a bad choice in picking Biden in 2008. Dumping Biden would only happen in desperation.

Then again, maybe President Obama would dump Biden for a candidate like Hillary Clinton because even Biden considers her more qualified for vice president (watch the video).

UNLESS the incumbent self destructs. there was something wrong with the way Bush1 campaigned. even without Perot, it was pretty half hearted.

Obama won't make that mistake. all he will do is keep knocking Romney and NEVER talk about his own record.

as long as he has his true believers, and those that fear change, Romney has a large hurdle that he has to climb over. ON THAT BASIS, if you write in a name, vote a third party candidate or stay at home, you'd be helping Obama...

You can't just name a logical fallacy to make yourself look smarter. One has to actually be USING a logical fallacy for that to work. Gary Johnson is the superior candidate, so I'm voting for him. The false premise is that voting for someone other than Romney is a vote to keep Obama in office. From my perspective, a vote for Romney is a vote for an Obama from a different mama. He's going to do exactly the same thing Obama did if he wins: keep steering this country in the SAME direction as the predecessor he criticized, but at a different pace.

Ron Paul is a superior candidate, but its moot. he won't be on the ballot.

GJ may be on the ballot, but if you consider that the typical GJ voter would typically break for Romney, that non-Romney vote hurts Romney.

you say that Romney's indistinguishable from Obama. he simply can't be. Romney has leadership chops. Obama, clearly, has none. Romney has had extensive success running large organizations. running gov't. after 4 years in the presidency, Obama has demonstrated neither.

Obama has failed. the other, minor (perhaps high quality) candidates draw from Romney's pool and hurt the possibility of Obama being turned out.

its Perot/Bush, Gore/Nader and Kerry/Nader all over again.

Since he switches positions with the wind (made possible only by a corrupt American media) it would not surprise me if he did, but it is his policies that are crushing the U.S. and a V.P. switch won't change that.

IF...BIG IF, Hillary Clinton would accept it, then NO, not "desperation" at all!! Joe Biden makes me laugh...he is probably a nice guy to sit with, on the beach and just b/s all day. HE HAS DONE NOTHING FOR THIS ADMINISTRATION, but cause more trouble. Keeping him looks more like Obama is desperate for any running mate OR that he does NOT want a running mate. I would actually say he had a "set" if he dropped Biden. Takes a big person to admit to a mistake....
