Obama Has 21 Days to Drop Biden: Would Dumping Biden Signal Desperation?

President Obama has a lot of pressure to dump Vice President Joe Biden from the 2012 election campaign. Biden would not likely run for president in 2016 at the age of 73. Biden, a former Senator from Delaware, doesn't help with voters in the swing states like Florida, Virginia, Ohio or Pennsylvania. And Biden continues to bore people except with his gaffes ("20th Century") or outlandish rhetoric (accusing Republicans of enslaving people).

President Obama could shake things up by replacing Biden with Secretary Hillary Clinton as his vice president on his 2012 re-election ticket. Some pundits argue that would signal desperation by the Obama 2012 campaign because it would look as if Obama made a bad choice in picking Biden in 2008. Dumping Biden would only happen in desperation.

Then again, maybe President Obama would dump Biden for a candidate like Hillary Clinton because even Biden considers her more qualified for vice president (watch the video).

I am not so sure that Biden's latest gaffes are not a planned distraction from the numbers coming out on the economy. Also, the granny off the cliff demonization is not working as well as t the Obama campaigners were hoping. The question has come up about the 716 billion dollars that has been taken out of medicare to help pay for Obamacare. The timing of Biden's gaffes is always interesting. Besides, I am sure that the campaign staff goes through Biden's speaches with a fine tooth comb, and I doubt anything has been said that is not the sentiment of this administration.

But she would know a thing or two about a failed, inept, erroneous, unqualified VP on a ticket. It was a real laugh'er to hear John McCain make a total fool of himself even bothering to comment with his record of picking a VP.

It would be the smart move but Obama won't do it because Obama is so stuck on himself, He thinks he can overcome anything. Besides, I would love to see a Joe Biden vs. Jim Ryan VP. Debate. Biden won't be dealing with someone inexperienced in national politics/debates this time like Palin was. Ryan will give Biden a run for his money and mop the floor up with Biden.

But, I'm not an Obama supporter. A friend said that he thought if Obama dropped Biden it could hurt him, but I don't see how unless he chose a worse running mate. It really doesn't matter to me as I plan on voting Libertarian regardless who Obama chooses as a running mate.

Biden was 0bozo's insurance policy against impeachment and the Dem's would be hard pressed to get any more desperate or lower than they are already.

If Obama dumped Biden it would be risky, too. Political signs, ads, and bumper stickers would have to be changed. More importantly, it would make the Obama ticket look unsteady and wishy-washy.
