President Obama has a lot of pressure to dump Vice President Joe Biden from the 2012 election campaign. Biden would not likely run for president in 2016 at the age of 73. Biden, a former Senator from Delaware, doesn't help with voters in the swing states like Florida, Virginia, Ohio or Pennsylvania. And Biden continues to bore people except with his gaffes ("20th Century") or outlandish rhetoric (accusing Republicans of enslaving people).
President Obama could shake things up by replacing Biden with Secretary Hillary Clinton as his vice president on his 2012 re-election ticket. Some pundits argue that would signal desperation by the Obama 2012 campaign because it would look as if Obama made a bad choice in picking Biden in 2008. Dumping Biden would only happen in desperation.
Then again, maybe President Obama would dump Biden for a candidate like Hillary Clinton because even Biden considers her more qualified for vice president (watch the video).

Rumor has it that he asked Hillary Clinton and that she refused. I suppose, that Obama really wouldn't like to spend the next few years having people check his food for him.
I predict an epic, historic landslide sized election defeat for Obama and crew IF we can keep the progressive voter fraud to a minimum. We're on to you vermin, and we're watching. Unlike in 2008.
BHO = WORST.PRESIDENT.EVER
I love Joe Biden.
Now - Mittens - boy! That's a whole different story. The Republicons are doing what they did with W. The actual presidential candidate is Paul Ryan - Mittens is only a spokesperson. Ryan will be the mastermind behind the presidency - just like Cheney.
You're funny! That was a good Jack Nicholson impersonation.
Sodaheads has a LOT of Democrats as well as Republicans and Independents. Probably as many as. Fef wrote the article so it is his feed. I have never even heard of him so I don't even know what his political affiliations are. I was on another feed this morn, written by an obvious Liberal, and his poll went way against him. So make up your own mind.
The fact is, both the extreme versions of both sides are equally unrealistic. On the right, there are always going to be 10% that didn't get the word. They will have failed to plan on some level for something. On the left - there are always going to be some unfortunates who miss out - we can't save them all from themselves. As for military service, in my time as in my sons' there are the sick, lame and lazy who fail to show up when their country calls. Nothing new - just noted. Even in WWII the rate was about 21% or about 10.5 times higher than what we currently field
Look, the right is so pissed and angry - they can't get past the 'I got mine...'; screw yours' attitudes. And the left is so caught up in their psuedo superiority, that the elites figure socialism is all good except for them. To tell the truth, I'm sick of the both of them. I'm just sick of them......I'd like to stay retreate to my little small socal house with the veggie garden, solar panels, wells, barely paved road that gets here and not bother with anybody
If you are attacked, constantly, maybe it is because you come on and attack. I don't know. The right wants more people on their side, so why would they just attack a potential voter, for no reason?
The Right is trying to bring people back together. The left is tearing them apart. So you tell me.
As for bringing people together - YOU tell me.... How does the GOP platform square with women, gays, latinos, blacks and seniors? Speaking of tearing a people apart - the right excels at it; not that the left doesn't try to keep up..... This is neither a Carter nor Reagan moment.
Conclusion: It is simply a way to make medicare available to everyone before 65. What's different now, is that parts A,B,C and D have a different payer and payee. Healthcare is only health insurance; what is insurance? Transfer of risk. That risk is socialized across a wider spectrum of people and the individualized risk is reduced Yours, mine, your kids, parents, etc).
The backbone of that transferrence is the payroll taxes and 1099 taxes if you're self employed or business owner. With that infrastructure, it's paid for already, but a great reliance is placed on the 20 and 30 somethings. The national statistics show that accidental death has a 1.2% payout. The rest is pure profit. If you had those odds in Vegas, you'd be a fool to not quit working for a living and start gambling instead. Because by definition, the older you get - the less likely you are prone to serious accident. The kids are basically footing the bill until THEIR kids take over in about 30yrs.
Additionally, seniors (legally, those over 60) are working longer and the requirement to pay for their medicare is delayed for more yrs. I just had a client who retired for the 1st time at 75... that's 10 yrs of me...

I just had a client who retired for the 1st time at 75... that's 10 yrs of medicare on him alone not used and not gonna be used - he has elected to self pay his parts b, c and d. As people take better care of themselves, the expense will reduce - as projections show.
The kids are too young to realize that the binge drinking, burgers and video games are shortening their lives- at least right now. But they will learn as mortality becomes more real after 40.
I myself am looking forward to my 55th birthday next month and have a routine of morning road racing rides on my bike that I do 4-5 times a week. I'm not as fast and strong as my optimum yrs of 30-38 but my bp measured 116/76 yesterday and my diet consists of 90% fruits and vegetables. My resting heart rate is in the mid 40's to the low 50's during the day and most probably sub-40 at night in my sleep. Where it is normal for the avg adult to be around 72-90/bpm.
My pants are falling off of me. I just paid $60 to have them tailored just to lose additional weight since I took them in. I now have the body the body I had 25 yrs ago. I just went thru 3 surgeries and the doctor's were alarmed that my BPM was too low to continue beyond the 1st of the 3 until they were assured that it was 'normal' for me.
If and when people but down the pizzas and big macs, reductions of chronic illness will reduce the cost of healthcare. You may have a tough time believing or understanding that as you suck down another beer while you're reading this, but if I hit the nail on the head - you're part of the problem, not the healthcare system. Hence the FLOTUS's crusade on fat kids and type 2 diabetes. To get type 2 - you have to eat your way there.
Type 1 is a defect at birth - normally not detectable before about 22 yrs of age. If you are type 2, you most likely have BP trouble, heart and kidney troubles and open the door to alzheimer's and will most probably have a heart attack or stroke. Kidney disease is the 'canary in the coal mine' but people don't pay attention. Until they're hit by 'random' with some form of cancer - it's all related.
You need to stop relying on GOP driven rumor and pay more attention to national statistics regardless of your politics in regards to healthcare issues.
But if you go to any insurance company and get a policy in any state (they're all available regardless where you live as they're regulated at the federal level - there are 12 of them) and purchase an affordable med supp F. Not only would he be covered but most likely cheaper than if you used any other option.
Medicare is not going away, who pays what to whom is changing maybe but the care is still there. Medicare and med supplements are two wildly different things.
Think about it - while death is inevitable, it is almost always less profitable than allowing people to live as long as they can... A corpse needs no more care, while someone with stage 4 cancer but covered with insurance, produces more income for SOMEBODY, whether they mean to or not.
