Obama Has 21 Days to Drop Biden: Would Dumping Biden Signal Desperation?

President Obama has a lot of pressure to dump Vice President Joe Biden from the 2012 election campaign. Biden would not likely run for president in 2016 at the age of 73. Biden, a former Senator from Delaware, doesn't help with voters in the swing states like Florida, Virginia, Ohio or Pennsylvania. And Biden continues to bore people except with his gaffes ("20th Century") or outlandish rhetoric (accusing Republicans of enslaving people).

President Obama could shake things up by replacing Biden with Secretary Hillary Clinton as his vice president on his 2012 re-election ticket. Some pundits argue that would signal desperation by the Obama 2012 campaign because it would look as if Obama made a bad choice in picking Biden in 2008. Dumping Biden would only happen in desperation.

Then again, maybe President Obama would dump Biden for a candidate like Hillary Clinton because even Biden considers her more qualified for vice president (watch the video).

    It's even more desperate than most people probably know. According to Ed Klein (author of the current bestseller AMATEUR, the title of which comes from Bill Clinton privately calling Obama an incompetent and amateur, in over his head) Hillary Clinton WAS approached about taking the V.P. slot and flatly said no !

    Hillary Clinton wants to run in 2016, and doesn't want to be connected to Obama's failing campaign, or have to defend Obama's record in 4 years, by aligning too closely with it. Hillary plans to retire as secretary of state in January 2013 regardless of the election outcome, and (if Obama were to win) John Kerry would likely fill that slot in her absence.

    Not in the least. Biden is 70 years old, and achieved the highest office in politics that he is ever going to, so it makes sense to retire. If he goes, enjoy retirement Mr. Biden. Sometimes, in an effort to sensationalize things, people ignore the obvious. Who really would want to take the stress till they are almost 75? That's the real question. Pretty late in life for all that grief.

    Chances are that he is not going to find anyone willing to take the second half of that ticket because he is going to lose and who wants to hook their wagon to a loser? You damn sure won't see Clinton hooking up with Jigabammy.

    But they won't drop Biden,. When obie wants to try a campaign tactic or slogan or theory out-they trot out the gafftastic Biden, who like the court fool, says whatever they tell him. The campaign gauges reaction and takes their cues from that.



    They need the gaffmaster. And dumping him now MIGHT result in certain secrets coming out, so I think they are stuck.

    A Biden/Ryan debate will be a man - Joe Biden vs. a boy - Paul Ryan.
    Progressives are poised to sweep the House, Senate and I think everyone agrees that Obama is most certainly going to be a 2 term President.
