Liberals, like Obama are helping to kill millions of babies around the world, by supporting abortions as a means of birthcontrol. Will you be giving him a pass for that? There is no more greater wicked man in the history of America, than Obama! Under his direction, drones have killed thousands of civilians including children. I guess in your eyes Obama is a very a holy man?

It's a fair question, yet with unfair options. The office of the President is to be respected, yet......when the person in that position of authority so mocks what it stands for, I have a very hard time remembering it.
I still respect the Office, however, I have nothing but total disdain for this empty suit occupying the White House. I cannot wait until he is ridden out in November.

Remember how Cindy Sheehan camped out where ever Bush was with her compatriots and heckled him several times a day? Why does she not do that to obambam?

Remember Bush getting heckled a LOT of places, going into, or out of appearances?

Why was it FINE to heckle Bush but an act of disrespect to heckle the illega ommie bastard king?

Now wait a minute, Obama can't help being a bastard, any more than he can help that his father was a sexual predator! . . . But he *CAN* be held accountable for the harm *HE* has done to the USA.

Look, it's this simple. The heck with what you feel about the man - respect the OFFICE. As much as previous Presidents have been controversial and downright hated, I don't ever remember a 'journalist' behaving in this manner!! What network/paper/media was this bonehead representing?

Not true. I didn't care for that kind of behaviour then, and I don't care for it now. I didn't vote for either Bush OR Obama so you picked the wrong tree to bark up here.

IF I had lapdog journalists, this behaviour wouldn't be tolerated. Besides, the media is only as liberal as the conservatives that own them want them to be.

No one is asking anyone to surrender or abrogate ANY rights. A privilege may, or may not, be rescinded as response to this man's unprofessional behaviour.

I guess you forgot this one important factor in our Constitution.

    The First Amendment

and here's the deal I can respect the Office of the President all day long but I will not give up my right to a free press or speech for it.

Rights always balance with responsibilities. I'm a big proponent of the 1st Amendment, but I won't condone it's abuse, either. You do not have a right to attend a WH press conference, it is a privilege. If you are unable to restrain yourself and conduct yourself in a professional manner you are inappropriate and lose the privilege. You can write whatever you want - that is freedom of the press/speech.

No, you are wrong, it is not a privileged it is a right, the Constitution makes it very clear about Freedom of the Press, the question was asked, I don't care if he was in the middle of a bubble bath.

Sorry, White House Press conferences are a privilege to attend. Not everyone that applies for a press pass is given one, it has always been that way. That does NOT impinge on anyone's Freedom of the Press or Speech. He and his paper can print what they wish, their freedom of the Press or Speech is also not impaired. You should brush up on what the Press and Speech are, and how it works.....how it has ALWAYS worked no matter who was in office.

So, you only invite those of the Press who agree with you? The Government is setting the rule here which is not Constitutional. It does not matter who or which party is in charge, the point is the President has no right to keep anyone in or out based on what your criteria should be, the Constitution is very concise and to the point, this is not akin to yelling fire in a crowded theater, it is you who needs to brush up on the First Amendment.

No, I just don't think we need someone from every small town and HS newspaper in amongst those that have legitimate credentials. Anarchy is not a suitable system. I'm quite conversant with the First Amendment. You seem to be missing my point, either intentionally or just due to narrowed focus on one issue. I wish you good luck and a nice day!

He was never prevented from asking a question. And he could have done at the time he was allowed to do so instead of heckling the President before he was finished. It's like getting your food and complaining you can't eat it during Grace - it's a child's distinction.

Read the First Amendment, the Government takes as good as it gives and in this case the reporter was within his Constitutional Rights to ask the question, even after the Dictator talked he walked away without answering, they all (Presidents) need to answer to the public just not make a decree and walk away.
  • George ... The Lib... 2012/06/16 20:15:25

I'm not saying he did anything illegal. I'm saying he was disrespectful. Contrary to what you might think, they're not the same. Of course he was within his first amendment rights, but he was not within his own journalistic standards as he made it less likely that his question was answered by making the issue not about the actual question but about how he interrupted a presidential statement.
