When our government incarcerates someone, as it is incarcerating these people charged with being here illegally, our government is under a moral and legal duty to provide him or her with adequate health care. The government cannot incarcerate someone, thereby preventing that person from accessing healthcare for him or herself, and then deny that person necessary health care. These new standards are entirely appropriate.

Not until their cases have been decided. In this country a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty. While we are incarcerating them prior to disposition of their cases, and we are thereby preventing them from accessing health care, we have a duty to provide it.

The disagreement isn't over what we feel about people who are here illegally, although I would imagine we disagree about that as well. The disagreement is over whether our government, when it incarcerates someone, has a duty to provide that person with medical care.

Illegals deserve no amnesty or path to citizenship. Time to get serious from top to bottom on illegals. They are a FOREIGN INVASION FORCE.

1. Finish the fence complete with Razor Wire on top.
2. Claymores & Landmines first 100 meters our side of the fence. We already can't go into areas of our own country
3. Militarize the border with Combat Troops, M1A1 tanks, Bradleys, Drones, Apache Attack Helicopters and issue "S. O. S " orders.
4 Repeal the Anchor Rat Law.
5. Start a Bounty Hunter Program and issue a bounty on All Illegals.
6. Severe Fines for any and all buisnesses hiring illegals.
7. Fines for anyone renting to or harboring illegals.
8. Cities/States providing sanctuary will lose Federal Dollars in addition to fines.
9. Deport within 10 days and if they want a lawyer they must pay for them. Remember They are required to carry a Green Card.
10. No Gov. Benefits or services (i.e. school etc) for illegals. Continue to purge/deport them as we find them.
11. Any illegal serving time in an American jail/prison will serve it at hard labor on a Chain-Gang.
12. English only for all Government documents, tests etc.
As for those protesting if they're citizens throw them back across the border for treason and advocating the overthrow of America.

This question was about whether the government should provide health care to persons, who are incarcerated by the government and charged with being here illegally, before they are found guilty or not guilty of being here illegally.

I am a U.S. citizen. I don't have to carry any papers, and, if I were suspected of being an illegal alien, and if I were incarcerated and got sick, I would expect the jail where I am being held to provide me with medical care.

You've got a skewed perception about who the "We the People" are intended by our Constitution.

Non-citizens are, in fact, protected by certain provisions of the constitution, including the Fourth Amendment and the Equal Protection Clause.

You keep speaking of citizens. You're comparing apples to oranges.

You keep forgetting. "We," yes. But an illegal is NOT one of the "We the People" intended by OUR Constitution. So all that "We" stuff you refer too is inapplicable to them.

They've already been accorded SUMMARY JUSTICE, where the burden of proof is ON THEM. Not the government. That is one major difference between what "We" as citizens are entitled to, and what a FOREIGN NATIONAL is entitled to.

In any criminal case, the burden of proof is on the government. And non-citizens are protected by certain provisions of the constitution, including the Fourth Amendment.

The charges they are held under alleges crimes other than the already established fact that they are illegals.

No it wasn't. It's my topic question. The question asks should [MEDICALLY UNNECESSARY] hormone injections be provided to illegal alien [not "We the People"] detainees [not entitled to OUR constitutional rights, let alone something even our own citizens are not constitutionally entitled to].

Your posting does not state that hormone injections are not medically necessary, nor would such a statement be true.
