President Barack Obama is freezing the salaries of about a hundred White House employees who make over $100,000 a year. The pay freeze will keep those aides' salaries at their current levels. Those employees include the high-profile jobs of White House chief of staff, national security adviser and press secretary.

In a statement, Obama said "families are tightening their belts, and so should Washington."

Answered: A salary freeze is a great idea in this economy.
But I think he should also take a pay cut what does he need with all the money he makes. His housing is paid for and he doesn't have any household bills. So why not cut his salary and give the money back to the US treasury.

An effing anti american toad. His wife hired 22 assistants, full time wheras other first ladies had ONE. Obummer has more then any president in history and now he acts like he did soemthing after hiring EVERY PERSON on his friends list? Gimme a break. Even their dog gets a paycheck.

Yeah, that is why his wife hired 22 personal assistants ALL getting full time salary and benefits packages whereas other first ladies had ONE. And HE has the most personal assistants EVER. Hiring freezes on salaries int eh 200,000 a year range with full prepaid benefits is not much of a freeze.

Fire everyone that had ever worked for any other administration excpet the gift giving steward. Hore new ones at a lower salary and a LOT less of them. If there is a state dinner, hire a caterer. We the taxpayers are footing the bill for the obammas weekly cocktail party, they serve $100 a pound Kobe Beef and Lobster flown in fresh from Maine. They invite up to 100 people to these events and we foot the bill. SHe has 22 personal asisistants, who needs that many? luara had one. one, uno singular and this tramp needs 22? Really with full time salaries and benefits for ALL of them including her makeup artist and her personal fingernail painter? REally?

Well I would cut my salary for at least 4 yrs to show Americans that I was serious about trying to help the economy. then I would freeze the senate and congress salaries and all the member of the cabinet that I have picked. that would save a nice chunk of change.

I already have made cut backs and yes there was alot of mis-management but he could make a decrease in his pay that would show he was serious about trying to make things better
