With the amount of electricity generated by coal power, and the amount of coal seams that are untouched, the future of the coal industry is quite secure. That is, unless, there is a president trying to shut it down. Oh wait, that is who is in office now.

The four states (PA/OH/W Va/KY) that comprise the majority of coal country are in serious financial trouble. They are red states so Obama sees no need to assist the people while his EPA performs it's crucification of the coal mining industry.

100,000 jobs lost , revenues dwindled and families suffering.

There are billboards declaring area Obama's NO JOBS ZONE with the numbers of jobs lost and the amount of taxes lost too.

Sucks to be one of these states, perhaps they should vote Democrat this time, because coal is a labor intensive operation, not the corporate cash cow that it has been.

You're right, it sucks to be one of these states, THEY VOTED DEMOCRAT in 08, and look what's happening! We're facing higher prices for electricity, ON TOP of the higher prices of gasoline, and food products! ALL THANKS TO THE DEMOCRATS, the EPA, and ENVIRONMENTALIST wackos! Ohio has 3 coal fired power plants scheduled to close, JUST to meet new EPA regulations. There's NOTHING to replace them, so WE get to pay much higher rates (which by the way, have been going up because the energy company's not getting the revenue due to everyone trying to save money(Thank you CFL's))!

Coal just makes to much sense for Obama-NOT to destroy its use!

He told us long ago that he would bankrupt the coal industry and also that electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. The guy is nuts and so are his supporters.

I never for a second thought he was lying about energy rates. One of the many reasons I didn't vote for him.

The US wants coal, fracking, and Keystone. Blacks don't want gay marriage. Unions want job stability without having to forfeit their pensions like the Indiana state worker's union did in the GM fiasco.

Obama seems to be alienating everyone except Georges Clooney and Soros.

I think he's shown how he feels about the energy industries. His supporters are nuts for believing this crap when his advisors, czars, appointees and his attack crucifiers at the EPA are saying in public.

He's not knowledgable enough about the energy industry to make these decisions and his appointees are not even familiar like the one who resigned last week.

His crucifiers at the EPA has shuttered refineries on both the east coast and west coast, reducing our ability to refine the oil that he says he MIGHT drill for, making sure the oil does not go to our nations use but for sale to foreign nations like his pals in China.
He is ensuring Americans are suffering and jobless.

And if re-elected he won't drill for any oil either. He knows the majority want to go after our own oil, this is just talk and all about votes.
