WASHINGTON --
President Barack Obama is creating a new office to bolster education of African-American students.
The
White House says the office will coordinate the work of communities and
federal agencies to ensure that African-American youngsters are better
prepared for high school, college and career.
Obama is announcing
his election-year initiative Wednesday night in a speech to the civil
rights group the National Urban League as he seeks to rally black
voters. Aides say his executive order, to be signed Thursday, will set a
goal of producing "a more effective continuum" of programs for
African-American students.

As far as racism against yourselves, what makes you think whites don't suffer racism against them?
If that were the case, why are so many black people unemployed vs whit unemployed? If it were mandatory wouldn't we all be employed? I mean we are a smaller percentage of the population... Also, you cannot eve begin to compare the racism that whites face compared to what has happened to black people in the country. Especially since it was at the hands of whites...
When I went to that college I had two study partners for our calculus class. one was a Hispanic Mexican national and the other was white. I paid as I went, the Mexican was driving a BMW and the white was struggling to stay in school. The Mexican complained about how often they approached him for economic aid while the white begged and never received a dime. I'm sure you will dispute this claim and that's OK, the reality is that whites are often turned down and when they do receive aid it comes with a payoff schedule along with interest dues. Minorities get free government and private grants offered to them all the time.
My friend makes four times what I do and he was bragging how he paid less than half what I paid to send our Kids to the same university.
You are generalizing while I am giving hard experienced facts.
Whites are not some poor oppressed race of people like you are trying to insinuate. Your people run this country and have all the political capital. In fact, the income disparity between black and white households is so far apart its ridiculous. Most of the millionaires and billionaires in this country are white, so what type of sob story are you trying to give me? Your people have never been slaves, never been barred from learning, never been subject to Jim Crow Laws, never been lynched, never been denied the right to vote, etc... Man, quit complaining about one or two instances that you know of and look at the big picture.
Hiding under a rock and crying about the past is only keeping the poor poorer.
You are doing your race a disservice by providing an excuse for their predicament.
This country is still very young, and most of it's history involved slavery and segregation of blacks. This was not 10 centuries ago, unlike the enslavement of blacks on this very land. There are black people alive today, like my mother who suffered from Jim Crow and segregation. So don't tell me that was 200 years ago.
What happened in Africa doesn't make it right for them to do it, and it damn sure doesn't make it right to do it here. You guys sound like kids trying to point the finger at other people who did it, but worse than you. No one is justifying slavery any where, regardless of who did it. I'm sure the slaves would agree with me, versus you.
As far as handouts, I think you need to get outside of you little circle and realize that there are many black doctors, lawyers, and other professionals like me who have graduate degrees or own their own businesses. We worked hard to get to where we are today, didn't rely on white people for anything. Open your eyes...
A lot of this schools in the inner city are poorly funded, ill equipped, and made up mostly of poor people. Clearly there is a problem there that needs to be addressed. What's wrong with that?

I don't have to get my news from you or the talking heads...I do the research for myself. That's what all those years in college taught me to do...research. All you have are talking points and rhetoric from the right.
I'm a business owner and would appreciate if you would not cheapen your comments by lumping me into talking heads.
Poor blacks will get free health care, the whites and blacks that pay the majority of the taxes will suffer. This leads to how poor blacks will suffer, as a business owner I now will have yet another government tax attached to an employee. As it is I already pay more than my share matching what the government mandates in taxes. What have I done to compensate for those expenses?, reduced my work force and work smarter. Now with the health care tax over my head I will reduce further my work force and work harder and smarter. I may move my company out of the country if Mexico stabilizes their boarders.
It is you people who claim the greedy Republicans go off shore for for higher profits well now can you see why?
I don't know what you do but as an engineer I was not only taught how to research but how to think in problem solving and my talking points come from real life.
You see I don't watch TV, don't care for Rush and am tired of both sides generalizing (like you are doing) all the generalized points.

The only difference between the two parties is that the liberals use the blacks poor condition to further their cause.
