LOL this is a silly one, z. He wasn't complaining. He was simply reminding the crowd of how much good the First Lady has done for this country without even being paid for her efforts.
The sad part is that I'm sure your post will bring out all the haters who bash this honorable lady for absolutely no discernable reason other than the fact that she's married to someone they hate even more. Somehow I don't recall Laura Bush getting this treatment, even though she had a staff the same size as the First Lady, took her own daughters on an African safari at taxpayer expense, and at least Michelle Obama never killed anyone, something Laura Bush can't say.
As if the country hasn't spent enough on all the things they were complaining about before. Wonder what Rev. Wright thinks about the money they've spent on their "cruise ship" while in office.
Since you picture went away, will add this comment here: I just had to pass this on JUST REMEMBER WHEN 2012 ROLLS AROUND.
Wow, she must have been really good at her job.
At the top right hand corner of page 17 of the New York Post, January
24, 2009, was a column entitled, "Replacing Michelle" in the National Review, The Week. Here it is below as it appeared:
"Some employees are simply irreplaceable. Take Michelle Obama: The University of Chicago Medical center hired her in 2002 to run 'programs for community relations, neighborhood outreach, volunteer recruitment, staff diversity and minority contracting'. In 2005 the hospital raised her salary from $120,000 to $317,000 - nearly twice what her
Husband made as a Senator. Her husband, Barack Obama, had just become a US Senator. He sure had. He requested a $1 million earmark for the UC Medical Center, in fact. Way to network, Michelle!
Now that Mrs.... Obama has resigned, the hospital says her position will remain unfilled. How can that be, if the work she did was vital enough to be worth $317,000 ? Let me add that Michelle's position was a part time, 20 hour a week job." My thoughts: How did this bit of quid pro quo corruption escape the sharp reporters that dug through Sarah Palin's garbage and kindergarten files? I hope this is forwa...

I hope this is forwarded so many times that the media will HAVE to cover it. For every action, there is an equal and opposite government program. Recession is when your neighbor loses his job. Depression is when you lose your job. Recovery is when Obama loses his.
is pointing something out the same as complaining?
Fact is thought many first ladies have had to give up their incomes in the White House, nt just Michelle. I don't see why first ladies can't keep their own jobs. I think it's very backward that we should assume that first ladies can't have their own lives.
When the First Lady travels for non-official reasons she pays her own way. As have previous First Ladies. And the fact that someone can do something doesn't mean that they do. The First Lady has not done any more traveling than her predecessors have.
ALL of the President's and First Lady's income and wealth came from their own efforts. Unlike Mitt Romney, who was a millionaire the day he was born and has never had to actually EARN a penny his entire life, both the President and the First Lady WORKED for a living. And still do. And neither of them has a single Swiss Bank Account.
I have nothing against someone being born to a wealthy family. What I object to is someone who is born to a wealthy family who has never made a penny in his life by any other means than already being wealthy, who has expanded his wealth by driving hundreds of working Americans onto the unemployment line and shipping thousands of American jobs overseas, who hides his wealth in foreign bank accounts to avoid paying his fair share of taxes on his wealth, and whose economic "plans" consist of continuing to reward the wealthiest at the expense of those who actually earn their sustenance or worse, those who are unable to support themselves.
The President and the First Lady earned their money. They are both attorneys at law, both worked as attorneys for years, the President worked as a Constitutional Law lecturer for a number of years, the First Lady held various public sector positions, and the President has earned a salary as a State Senator, United States Senator and President. He has also written two best selling books, which have made several million dollars in royalties.
And the fact that the President chose to help people, to work within a community with people struggling to feed their families instead of simply shuffling money from one bank account to another to make his ...

And the fact that the President chose to help people, to work within a community with people struggling to feed their families instead of simply shuffling money from one bank account to another to make his profits is one of the most admirable things about him. When Mitt Romney graduated from college he said "how can I make myself richer". When Barack Obama graduated from college he said "how can I make the world a better place".
Oh and neither the President nor the First Lady were disbarred. That one's been making the rounds for years and it's nonsense. Both of them have voluntarily placed their licenses on inactive status due to their involvement in the public sector. It is a common practice for many public officials, including Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum. Neither the President nor the First Lady have ever been subject to any disciplinary proceedings or any professional complaints of any kind, and both could resume active practice of law tomorrow if they chose to.
Oh my god, he made a joke that brought attention to the fact that women make less money than men for the same work, and implied he'd do something about it!
How about Mitt's "humorous" remarks about how "I'm unemployed, too" or "I like to fire people". And let's not forget Mrs. Romney telling YOU and telling ME that "you people have all the information you need to know." The only difference is that Liberals actually have a sense of humor, while conservatives (present company excepted, of course) don't.
Ah yes, same here: The can I was referring was a "can of worms" ha, was tossing you a pun! Know about the work ethics and the majority would vote as yourself...I had that experience more then once myself, but I keep my can close to my jacket, just in case I have to go fishing!
