I have listened to the clips many times by now. It sounds like Barack Obama could have been talking about the roads and bridges when he said "you didn't build that" -- not the entrepreneurial-built businesses that Mitt Romney referred to in his recent attack ad. But it's not exactly clear. Do you think Romney is quoting the president out of context?

FOXNEWS.COM reports:
President Obama is now claiming Mitt Romney twisted his words by focusing on the now-infamous 'you didn't build that' quote from earlier this month, telling a California crowd Monday night that the line was taken out of context.

Bill in Niantic 2012/07/24 19:41:49No, Romeny got the quote right

"If you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own. You didn't get there on your own. I'm always struck by people who think, 'well it must just be because I was so smart'. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everyone else. Let me tell ya something, there are a whole bunch of hard working people out there. If you were successful, somebody along the line gave ya some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Someone invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business, that, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn't get invented on its own."
Sure, he mentioned bridges and such, but his ENTIRE statement is telling people how the didn't earn or build what they have.
It's truly scary how hard the Right Wing works to deny basic simple objective reality that the average three year old can see more clearly than they can.
precous !!!!
Additionally, you cannot call Democrats having a "majority" in the Senate when the Republicans have filibustered every bill brought to the floor requiring 60 votes majority rather than the required 51.- an unprecedented number of filibusters by the way.
Just for your enjoyment and education - take a look at what the 111th Congress accomplished then compare it with the 112th d-nothing Congress after Republicans taking control. They were too interested in presenting anti-abortion legislation than actually governing.

What kind of a career do you think Steve Jobs would have had if the government had not developed the internet? How rich would the Walton family be if there were no highways to ship goods to their stores? NO ONE builds a successful business all alone. EVERY business needs an infrastructure in which to grow. THAT is what the President said. And he is absolutely correct.
