OBAMA CAMPAIGN

Politically speaking, Navy Seals aren't the safest targets to rail against in a presidential race, but the Obama campaign isn't hesitating to take down a group of former Seals who've criticized the president's national security decisions.

On Thursday morning, campaign officials waged a full court press against the Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund, a group of former U.S. Special Forces and intelligence officials accusing President Obama of leaking vital national security secrets and taking too much credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden. When the group launched its anti-Obama media campaign Wednesday, consisting of TV ads and a 22-minute film, it wasn't clear if Obama officials would avoid a potentially messy confrontation or refute the military veterans publicly. But now the campaign has made clear it views the attacks in the same light as the 2004 John Kerry "Swift Boat" attack ads, which, however misleading, were painfully effective.
Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt told Reuters' Mark Hosenball last night. Taking a direct shot at the leaders of OPSEC, an Obama campaign official lambasted the group's accusations about national security leaks this morning. “No one in this group is in a position to speak with any authority on these issues and on what impact these leaks might have," said the official, speaking on background, "and it’s clear they’ve resorted to making things up for purely political reasons.

It's not surprising Ben is a Tea Party member and "former spokesman."

Less surprising is the hypocrisy. Think about it. Obama would receive 100% of the blame had the mission failed. Conservatives however feel he deserves zero credit for the success.

Much like the way conservatives credit Bush with keeping us safe after 9/11, but he's given a free pass on national security up until that point.

    Does anyone see the hypocrisy?

    I didn't think so.

So let me get this straight. The Navy Seals put together a 22-minute attack on our POTUS, and in defense of his stance, Obama's white house comes out against it? And you're calling Obama's objection to the video somehow an attack?

What color is the sky in your world? I only ask because you're obviously not in the world the rest of us live in.

First off, you'd be hard pressed to find an American who doesn't honor the military. But within the military you have imperfect human beings same as anywhere else. And for a group of seals to privately put together a 22 minute attack video on Obama (which was paid for in part by American Crossroads - Karl Rove's SuperPAC), to openly attack a sitting President while calling yourself a military officer, is a shame and a disrespect to their station. It doesn't matter if you're a con or a lib. When you put on that uniform, you salute the President, or you go home. If you think your politics might get in the way of faithfully and honestly executing your duties as a soldier, then don't sign up.

I would appear that this group is stepping outside of legality. To challenge their commander in chief is not right. Shame the military didn't challenge GW when he lied about WMDs in Iraq. These seals are traitors and should be sent to Gitmo.

It's already being investigated. Were you similarly "outraged" when CIA operative Valerie Plame was outed or is that somehow different because it was W's administration and that dkhead Cheney doing the outing?

If you are thinking that I supported Bush you are quite wrong. I feel that Bush did not serve this country very well at all. I just think that Obama is even worse than he was. I will say that this leak was worse than that one. I do not call it investigation when it is not being done by someone independent of the administration.
My feeling were that we should have removed most of Congress and Bush during his administration and I feel even more so about this administration. The nation is headed for collapse as the morons applaud. Does that answer Your question.

No, I'm thinking you and your fear mongering, Chicken Little view of things causes you to miss both the numbers he inherited and numbers he has achieved. To wit: W's last month lost 800,000 jobs. W's GDP went down by -3.9% followed by a -8.9% over his last two qtrs. Obama's averaged 1.8% growth and has grown jobs for the last 29 months creating 4.4 million jobs all from the private sector. Those are the easily checkable facts and unfortunately for you cons they don't care whether you like them or not.

Avg growth rate is 3.8% as far as fear mongering--kinda like Romney killed my wife? Or Romney wants to take your medicare all while Obama steals 716 Billion from the same program? That kind of fear mongering?---or maybe it's a WAR on WOMEN today, not sure what talking points the DNC are pushing in today's play book

Obama has had the worst recovery of any President before him. He has stood in the way of progress more than helped. The recovery that we have had is in-spite of what he has done, not because of him. Again Obama wants to protect government jobs with money to the states rather than take care of debt and budget. The states need to make tough decision and fix their own problems. Obama needs to get busy on the infrastructure that he keeps talking about and put his thumb on the EPA.

He's had the worst recovery because of the Repub's obstruction of 270 filibusters and clotures plus the housing bubble that even FDR or Reagan didn't have to face.

And did you mean the infrastructure that the Repubs were formerly for but now that Obama's in favor of they're against? There's a word for that and it's called being a f'ing hypocrite.

He had two years that he could have done anything that he wanted to do. Do not insult my intelligence with statement and making excuse for him.

They are not against doing the work on roads and bridges. They ask for cuts to pay for it. Before that Congress gave him his money and he threw it away. He gave some of the money directly to the state which used the money to shore up there own debt ridden government rather than spend it on the intended project. Remember shovel ready that the President seems to think is so funny. Then he takes 100's of billions of dollars and invest it in companies that have failed or have done poorly.

The President know how to make jobs as I have written and told him how, He needed a hint on how to do it. Needless to say he has only done used one of my suggestion after telling me that he was not going to do any of them. He is not interested in helping the economy or creating jobs unless they are in green energy or government jobs.

Name one other Prez who's had the housing bubble to deal with? Hint: You can't. Add up the 270 filibusters and clotures the Repubs have obstructed him with and you'd need to go back about 20 Congressional sessions (40 years) to equal what they've blocked including as you mentioned his infrastructure bill. Also, had Obama not cut 600,000 Gov jobs or added 800,000 Gov jobs like W did, his unemployment numbers would be 7.3%. Now, you know what the facts are. Can you deal with them?

Government jobs is not creating jobs in the private sector. He has allowed the EPA to add more job killing regulation on companies plus they have stopped from reopening. He allow the NLRB to stall the opening of a plant in So, Carolina.
Everything that you have written above has stopped the President from creating jobs. Quit making excuses for him, he in inept. Before this year is up he will have driven up the debt 6 trillion dollars.

Its pretty sad when the political hacks on the far right recruit our soldiers to promote an attack ad on the president that miss-characterized the raid that resulted in the death of OBL strictly for political gain. I wonder if they'll later recant their testimony like some of the veterans in the original Swift boat attack ads later did?
