President Obama hired Van Jones to the White House Council on Environmental Quality (aka Green Energy Tzar) in March of 2009. Jones resigned in September 2009 after allegations of ties to Marxist and 9/11 Truther organizations. Van Jones then co-founded non-profit organizations related to green energy.

Van Jones serves as an adviser to the company Solar Mosaic, which the Obama administration just awarded a $2,000,000 grant. Solar Mosaic also hired Van Jones' public relations firm Rebuild the Dream.

The Daily Caller reports:On Wednesday the Department of Energy began financing solar power installation research with a $2 million award to Solar Mosaic.

Before Obama gets his ass kicked to the curb, he is going to do his best to bankrupt America and pay all his friends as much as possible. I also predict Obama will not remain in the USA after he is ousted.

Not another Solyndra?!? Some people never learn. For someone who clames he is not a Marxist, he sure surrounds himself with them. He is even trying to use our own money against us.

He isn't going to do anything with it except spend it - society will never see any results except more street gangs. How DARE our government give him tax dollars. If Obama wants him to have money, let him give him the cost of some of Obama's vacations!!!

Let's look at this quote here ..

"It’s unclear whether the Department of Energy knew of Jones’ position at Solar Mosaic. Agency spokeswoman Jen Strutsman"

    Hmmm ..

Given the documentation that has to be put together for these types of 'grant' activities ..
which is very .. detailed indeed ..
(and you do have to denote your subs and support services .. along with ownership info on the applications) ..

Makes this .. oh, how to say it .. HIGHLY Probable .. that there needs to be ..
INVESTIGATION on the entire process here ..
for this doesn't pass the 'smell test' ..
and seems to be .. well .. shady at best ..
(and possibly .. well .. needing charges pending?)

C'mon Fef, you live in LA, you know that the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights only got labeled Marxist after they produced videos of that SFPD Vice Detective kicking that black guy to death. What was his name? Sgt. Marc Andaya, I think, and he'd been accused of kicking another black guy and a gay kid to death before. They didn't let police commission hush it up, so they were Marxists.

That is a mere pittance compared to the Money given to Haliburton and the other NO-BID CONTRACTORS during the Iraq War. The people on here who voted against it know it and it is very DIS-INGENUOUS to say otherwise.

This is For those of you who want Romney to do something about China. Well this could help keep Solar Energy JOBS in U. S. Right now China is trying to corner the market.

So stop all of the HYPOCRCISY just because it is coming from the Obama Administration and Check the FACTS on who really did in the Economy IN and trying to DIG OUT, WHICH WILL TAKE MORE THAN 4 YEARS OR EVEN EIGHT.

Since Reagan it has only so that taken the Republicans 32 years to bring the Economy to the brink of a another DEPRESSION. Think about that before you are ready TO VOTE for Romney and Company to completely DESTROY THE ECONOMY.

You know, if you have to be nasty, go ahead because, I am not trying to change the mind of anyone who wants to Vote Republican or for Romney. Name calling only shows me the depth to which of some of you who comment on this Blog how much DISRESPECT, you intend to show this President, no matter what he does or say.

It is not about his policies but him as a person. I watch Romney use code words every speech he makes about the President for the crowd he appeals to. In his RURAL stops, he portrays the President as eloquent and well spoken - to that crowd it is a "dog whistle" for "elitists". and how he, Romney, is a much better person to whom everything has been given . He was a bully, lN fact, and he can't even mention being a Governor. He refuses in general to talk to the mainstream press.

If he cannot stand up to the scrutiny of the Press, and you want him as your President out of the fact that he is White, go right ahead, because I have a problem with that and it has nothing to do with the fact that he is White, like it is for most of you who HATE Obama.

So keep your name calling up if if makes you feel the bigger person.

    Still no Proof
Pay close attention, 45 seconds into your clip:
''The intangible drilling cost is not a subsidy but a legitimate tax deduction.''
The same sort of production cost deduction EVERY business is allowed.
Now to educate you. Tax deduction does not equate Subsidy. A subsidy is an amount of money GIVEN to a company by a gov't. NO MONEY HAS CHANGED HANDS FROM THE GOV'T TO BIG OIL (such the now bankrupt Solyndra). If you have a problem with this legitimate Tax Deduction, how do you feel about the General Motors $45 billion dollar tax holiday? That's over and above the SUBSIDIES and BAILOUT they received.

What the problem is, is that the $4 billion a year was only suppose to go to the oil companies in times when oil prices were so low as to help them with exploration and drilling costs. They passed this when oil prices were very low like in the teens per bl. This was never meant as a yearly subsidy but it has become that and that is where i have a problem with it. If they really needed it because oil prices were so low then I'm all for it but that is not the case. So you can complain about a "possible" $45 billion tax break to GM but for decades the oil companies have been getting subsidies and for the last 10 years they didn't need them. maybe you like throwing money away every year but even though I'm a progressive I'm very conservative when it comes to wasteful spending. We saved the auto industry and over a million jobs that were associated with them. But the oil companies are doing fine (936 billion dollars in profits over the last ten years) and still they're scrounging off us.

You still can't get you head around the fact that $4 billion a year DOES NOT GO TO THE OIL CO's.
All businesses get the same write off. It is not special treatment as with GM.
The autos were not ''saved''. They filled for bankruptcy anyway and we are still owed billions. Bankruptcy does not equate ''gone''. How many lost their jobs from all the dealerships 0webama closed. All chosen based on their politics. Barak is one Sick bastard.

Oil companies are big. They are powerful. They hire armies of lobbyists. They make truckloads of campaign contributions, They hire hundreds of lawyers to fight lawsuits and circumvent regulations. And they pollute like there is no tomorrow. But one thing they do not do is shirk their responsibility to pay taxes.
Since the Gulf oil spill, hardly a week has passed when a journalist has not called and asked for background on all the tax breaks enjoyed by the oil industry. They are invariably surprised and miffed with my response: oil companies pay high taxes. They pay high foreign taxes in the countries where they extract oil. And long gone are the days when depletion allowances got them low domestic taxes.
The biggest tax break enjoyed by the oil industry is something called the section 199 domestic manufacturing/production deduction. This became law in 2004. All companies that produce things in the United States are eligible for it.

My question is "why do conservatives like yourself so fiercely defend oil companies"? It's like you are joined at the hip and if someone attacks the oil companies and causes them pain you feel pain too. Now car companies employ hundreds of thousands of American workers yet you treat them as if they have the Black Plague. I assume it's because conservatives see unions as an evil even though unions got every middle class worker the wages and benifits they now enjoy through the last 150 years of fighting and sometimes even dying to get these improvments for the American workers, union or non union. See there is a difference between a company who sells a product that people buy every few years and one that puts out a product people need evey few days. Most likely people can hold off on buying as new car or truck but not many can put off buying gas or oil. An economic turndown as bad as the one we had will stop alot of people from buying big ticket items but they still need to buy gas. The auto industry took a bailout as did Wall Street but both were needed to save our economy. that $4 billion a year is not needed by oil companies and that's the difference. BTW if that $4 billion isn't going into government coffers from the oil companies that is lost tax dollars for us and therefor...

Now to straighten out your mistake I will state that if this $4 billion was as you said just a deduction that all businesses get they wouldn't have needed a seperate bill just for that benifit for oil companies. But they needed one therefor it's not a tax deduction every business gets but a tax givaway to a specific company.

$45 million dollar tax holiday, yes i'm fine with that because it saved over a million jobs between the car companies , suppliers and mom and pop businesses. American jobs that pay well and support families and pay taxes into our system. For that $4 billion a year what do we get from the oil companies? Nothing. The bigshots get more compensation as if they didn't get paid too much all ready. Do we get a break at the pump from that $4 billion? No. What do we get? Oh yes another yearly $4 billion added to the deficit. So yes we liberals think saving a million or more jobs was worth it and we don't think throwing away $4 billion a year to a greedy company who doesn't need it is a wise thing to do. And yes you are defending the oil companies the same way I am defending the saving of the car companies.the difference being I admit the truth.
The oil companies were getting that money long before 1994. 1994 was just the latest giveaway so it isn't that. Research back alot farther to find it. Oil companies can write off 70% of their drilling costs which amounts to $1.2 billion a year. Corn farmers get $4 billion in taxpayer subsidies every year. WTF. How about giving every person in the US that $8 billion a year a piece of that pie. Say everyone who earns less that $250,000 a year get's to split that $8 billion dollars. At least it will be spent and go back into the economy.

    That's $45 Billion with a ''B''
It has nothing to do with any ''jobs saved'' up to this point.

''For that $4 billion a year what do we get from the oil companies?''
You still have a mental block. The oil industry does not ''get'' 4 billion so there's no expectation for us to get back anything.

''What do we get? Oh yes another yearly $4 billion added to the deficit.'' To come to your conclusion, one would first have to regard all the money as property of the Gov't to start with.
Why would it be far to not give this industry the same tax break others get? It is only the shear volume that makes their profits seem so large. Apples ''profit'' is 4 times larger. So who is greedier? Hmmm?

''And yes you are defending the oil companies the same way I am defending the saving of the car companies.the difference being I admit the truth.'' Too funny, I have proven every point I have made and proved you to be full of liberal crap in the process.

''Corn farmers get $4 billion in taxpayer subsidies every year.'' Yeah, and?? You are kind of making my point here.

I figured but you wrote 45 million.
Now profit margin is irrelevant. Every company has a different margin of profit. But the sheer size of the profits of oil companies is staggering.
