I always found Nostradamus to be fascinating. In any event, in all of his visions there is "wiggle room." We can change our destiny, that "destiny" being an ultimate prediction, by changing our ways. Note that Ted Kennedy never became president and yet it was possibly in the cards for him. So something changed that destiny.

My thinking has always been very simplistic. If we, as people, continue to try to right wrongs, do good, promote general welfare, maintain freedom and keep America what she was during the WWII time frame ideologically, then there is hope for Mankind all over. Unfortunately, there are those who are continually acting in the same manner as Mr. Adolph did, and that does not bode well for our futures. Let's see what 2012 brings and if we can correct some wrongs and redirect destiny, or else I'm going to have to lock my doors a lot tighter to my neighbors when that nasty craving for human flesh begins to take them over. Yuck.

Yep, I'm an atheist, because one there is no evidence for a creator, second believing in a creator is simply to believe you are special, and more important then people who believe otherwise.

As for my apathetic political views, both parties are the same, there is no one in politics that serve the people, they are all in it for themselves. The only differece between the two parties citizen wise is, if you're a republican, you blame the government for all your problems, if you're a democrat, you blame the corporations for all your problems. When the reality is the government is paid off by the corperations and no one in any postion of power gives a damn about the society it supposedly serves. So yes, I'm apathetic when it comes to todays politics, because our voice has been silenced.

The world doesn't owe me anything, but it would be nice if the people who think they run the world would stop robbing me now and then. Until you change the way money works you change nothing.

Once you realize that you are a part of the universe, and not a seperate entitiy, the rest kinda falls into place.

biologically, i agree. but only on the base elements of life yes. self awareness is not universal.

As for the self aware part, you are right, based on our limited understanding of the universe. Who know how many self aware entities are out there. I like what Carl Sagan said, we are a way for the universe to know itself.
