Apparently New York is getting publicity for not only banning super sized sugary drinks, but also for demoting police officers who vote Republican. Six Long Island police officers claim that their commissioner has been punishing them because of their politics.

In a 39 million lawsuit, the officers claim that the Long Beach Police Commissioner Michael Tangney, a Democrat, demoted the officers, cut their overtime, switched them to midnight tours and even filed false internal charges against them.
