Remove all troops from Iraq and Afghanistan now. Bring em home for the rest they truly deserve. I know of folks that have been on 2-4 rotations to BOTH countries over the last several years. Our armed services folks are plumb wore out and the equipment is in similar sorry shape too.
If we built anything of value over there in those far, far away lands, blow those assets up as well. Buildings, barracks, airfields, vehicles, etc that if not destroyed, will eventually be used in efforts to destroy us.
Oh and Congress and POTUS, don't be trying to gut the military budget to finance YOUR welfare entitlement utopia at the expense of our military personnel. You DO know what I'm talking about.
Now that Osama Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan, where he has been hiding for quite a while.....Should we get the heck out of Afghanistan?

Wasn't the whole premise of the war in Afghanistan, based on supposition that they were hiding Bin Laden?

Yes Get out

It is sad that POTUS missed his second Memorial Day in DC!!! That is a very telling statement!
We simply cannot continuing our attempt to track down every third rate rebel with a vendetta against America. And I believe we can protect America much better from here at home than over there.
Not one more American life should be lost and not one more dime spent. There will always be terrorists with an agenda to harm America. That is precisely why we should protect America from right here at home.
A treasure trove of minerals and rare earth metals, now that is a reason to stay. Afghanistan is the mother-load for materials to be used in future and green technologies. An army will be needed to protect the mining activities.

If we leave for political or moral reasons, then we will have to make some sacrifices on the Green Transition and probably have to drill for more oil in the US and stay with our oil based system.
Afghanistan and the Taliban still pose a major threat, the war against terror is more likely to escalate than subside.
These folks fight in independent cells specifically for cases like this, the organization as a whole can move the agenda forward regardless if they lose any one piece.
OBL was a symbolic figure more than anything, still glad the POS is dancin' with Davey Jones.
Let's just leave a bunch of knives behind and tell 'em to have at it.
We also need to stop funding Pakistan since they obviously knew that bin Ladin was there.
As always, it has cost us far more than we had lost in the beginning.
stolen.
Perhaps I misunderstood what you were saying here - I thought you were referring to the money we borrow in order to keep our presence in Afghanistan - not the tax dollars that we use to send to the Middle East. Yes, if you're referring to our tax dollars that are flying out of the country, I agree with you.
