Obamatax hasn't been passed, it has just taken one more step down the road to defeat.
Now that Obamatax IS the biggest tax increase in the history of the world...does that make Obama the biggest liar in the history of the world?
Now that Obamacare has passed, shouldn't Rush keep his promise and move to Costa Rica?

" ... The mandate was directed at "taxpayer[s]". Every taxpayer not otherwise exempted had to indicate on their tax return if they had health insurance, and if they didn't, they had to pay a small penalty.
In fact, Congress made things even easier. The only consequence for failing to pay the tax was that your income tax refund would be reduced by a bit. And if you didn't have a tax refund that year, there were no consequences at all!"
Maybe Costa Rica would become the real-life Atlantis!

If everyone had higher deductibles and we paid for the less catastrophic costs, we'd care how much it costs. If we could get the level of insurance that we wanted, instead of all the government mandated coverages, we could reduce costs. For instance, I don't need maternity benefits anymore than a single man needs them, but we have them.

If we could shop competitively for health insurance we could reduce costs. If we could stop all the cover-your-ass medicine that the physicians have to practice we could reduce costs. So many things we could do, but no, we have to have government tell us what we'll have and who will have it.
The left won't be happy until we've eliminated the private market and we've all got equally bad healthcare, it's so much better. Then, like Canada, we can practice the three F's for healthcare...family, friends and favors. Yep, can't wait!
The ACA will reign in health insurance companies, but hospitals, doctors, and lawyers will have to give in some too, but most want to continue the status quo.
Canada has cheaper prescriptions because we do the R&D and they benefit. It must be so hard to sell such non-sense!
The only health reform that was needed was to get the lawyers out of the exam room and the operating theatre. Nothing has been done in that regard, all the ACA has done is generate more income for the government, increase bureaucracy and open the potential for millions of new lawsuits.
Costs are high because doctors have to practice defensive medicine. A patient goes to the doc and presents with an abdominal pain - the doc already knows what it is after talking with them for 5 minutes but to cover his ass he has to run an upper and lower GI, a full panel and an endoscopy. On the off chance that something is missed or doesn't go as planned, Mr Patient is now trying to sue any and everybody for 20 million dollars. That is where your health care costs are.
The sad thing is while we're losing billions and it's going to be the taxpayer that bails us out, I got a big raise and am working more overtime than ever. That's what a union does for you! I just wish I could negotiate for my own labor because I'm twice as productive as some of the others. Even though I'm near the top in seniority, I always help everyone. Even people that despise me, I always help them. I was the only one on Saturday that helped anyone else...I helped do half of another guy's route because his wife just had surgery. The rest just stretched out their own routes, just like always.
I call it the "Summer of Love"...my motto is "do for others what they would not do for you". LOL!
